I need to tell my parents but I'm too scared

So sorry to hear of your struggles and I am praying for you that you get help soon and the turmoil in your home will decrease and may God grant some peace to your entire family.

I second the thought of seeing a family MD and speaking with your priest for assistance.

Praying for you and your family. Based on what you said it sounds to me that your parents need counselling as well. Sometimes parents say things they don’t really mean out of anger or frustration. I remember my dad saying something similar to me when I was a kid. But you should not blame yourself for their behaviour. Your parents love you but they are broken people. So they don’t always show it well. And if you don’t have Jesus in your life it is really difficult to truly love. I know my dad used to yell at us kids and have a rage problem. We were scared of him. Also, him and my mom had a rocky marriage and were on the road to divorce. My dad was a practical atheist. Then one day he was driving to work and he heard the Lord speak to him and say ‘The only thing that really matters in your life is Jesus Christ’. The course of my dad’s life was changed that day and along with it ours. I got to witness him change over time into a completely different person. Now he is the most kindest gentle person. He prayers with people and serves the Lord. There has been much fruit in our lives as a result. So I would keep Praying for your parents. Because what they really need is Jesus in their hearts in order to love. We all have a God sized hole in our hearts without Jesus to fill it. Praying for you. God bless.

I’ll say a prayer to Our Lady Queen of Mental Peace for you.

You need to heed the advice of your priest and see a psychiatrist. He’d know a great deal about human behaviour, and he’d know what he’s on about. You might also consider asking your priest to have a word with your parents. He’d know how to handle the situation pastorally.
 
I agree with everyone who has said to ask a family doctor to speak to your parents on your behalf. They might take it better from an adult with some authority. Please, please do reach out for help so you can treat your illness. Praying hard for you…
 
You sound as if you may be a minor. I know you said you were home schooled, but your peers have counselors at school who can provide references helpful people. I’m pretty sure it may even be confidential. Yes, you can and should see both a doctor and a priest as another member said. And if a priest told you something in confession, then God the Holy Spirit was speaking through him. If my suggestion for finding help through the schools doesn’t work, go back to the priest because I’m willing to bet that your diocese has some kind of assistance. Catholic Charities? St. Vincent de Paul? The church bulletin? Do your best to have the courage to follow God’s guidance, as scary and intimidating as it may seem. God Bless you! You’re all in my prayers.
