Congratulations!

Please pray that the obstructions in the way of my entering Carmel may disappear, if that is God’s will.

I will remember you in prayer, my Carmelite “sister”, please, please remember me, and ask your new community to pray for my vocation too.

I’ll add my own congratulations to the chorus of voices here on the thread. God bless you for saying “yes!” to Him! I have Carmel in my heart as well, and I’m discerning to see how this love is expressing itself. Where it will lead, I have no idea, but I trust that the Spirit will guide me to where He wants me to be. And that’s enough for me. 🙂

God bless you, and remember us in your prayers! 👍

Congratulations, carmelitegirl! I bet you can’t contain your excitement as the day of entry draws near, right?

goforgoal-I saw your thumbnail prints in your comment. Where did you find the picture of St. Teresa of the Andes as a novice? I clicked on it out of curiosity just to see who it was. I’ve never seen a photo of her in her novice’s veil! She was in Carmel not very long, as you must know. Did a Carmelite community have this and send it to you?
I went to Google Image–Novice St. Teresa of the Andes so no a Carmelite community did not send it to me.

Yes, St. Teresa of the Andes only lived in Carmel for 11 months.

I was first introduced to St. Teresa of the Andes when my/our Carmelite Sisters of St. Joseph in Armstrong, B.C., Canada loaned me a movie about her.

What an amazing Saint— St. Teresa of the Andes is I think she influenced and had something to do with Brandee’s conversion and calling.

May St. Teresa of the Andes, continue to Pray for all young people and those discerning Religious life especially to Carmelite. Amen.

Interesting that you found the photograph of St. Teresa of the Andes as a novice on Google images…I guess you can find almost anything there! 😃

I did see a picture of her dead body laid out in the choir after death-she still had her novice’s veil on, in spite of making her final vows on her deathbed.

I watched the movie on her via YouTube-was that the one that is shown periodically on EWTN, by any chance? I cried when she was suffering her last illness! Made me think of St. Therese when she was dying!

I’m not surprised that Teresa of the Andes had an influence on carmelitegirl’s [Brandee’s] vocation…

Yes, it is pretty amazing what you can find on Google Images/online nowadays.

Yes, it is the same Movie via YouTube and that comes on EWTN once in awhile. I think (but could be wrong of course) that EWTN plays this video around St. Teresa of Jesus of the Andes Feast Day…I’m not really sure as I don’t have EWTN.

Yes, both St. Therese and St. Teresa of Jesus of the Andes suffered a great deal but they suffered for the conversion of sinners.

carmelitegirl93- It will be 14 more days until you enter Your Carmelite Order, Your Love, Your Jesus.

Please Pray for me and please tell your Carmelite Sisters to Pray for me as well.

God bless you,
goforgoal

I’m still confused. In the video she said she would be “visiting” this Order for the first time. So, are you going to “enter” forever this first visit, or are you going to visit, go home, discern, and possibly enter forever?:confused:

It’s about 16 days left to something…

Perhaps it is best that these young women were to reply to these questions and concerns themselves.

I think you might be thinking of “CarmeliteGirl25” who’s new username is “DaughterofMary6”

“carmelitegirl93” is a young woman who just became Roman Catholic last year on Easter Vigil. She will be entering the Carmelite Monastery of Cristo Rey in San Fransico, CA.

Yeah,** goforgoal **was correct in her statement. I am not entering an order at this time and I am no longer discerning with the Carmelites since feeling a desire towards the Dominicans and Franciscans. I am not 100% sure I am called to religious life, but I am still considering (albeit casually at this time) the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word in Birmingham, AL and the Religious Sisters of Mercy in Alma, MI. 🙂

DaughterOfMary6- I was going to say something like this.

That you are still discerning whether God is calling you to Religious life, Single life, or Marriage and you are leaving it in God’s Heavenly hands.

DaughterOfMary6, I know I haven’t been on your Prayer Request threads but I wanted to let you know that I am still Praying for you.

In case anyone is wondering why carmelitegirl93 has been absent from CAF, her blog, and YouTube channel. My guess would be because she is finishing her education and preparing for Carmel.

God bless,

Thank you for your prayers. I appreciate them always. I have decided to deepen my prayer life and focus, not so much on the exterior, but on my interior life to deepen my relationship with God. I still do not have a spiritual director so I am trying to read the Liturgy of the Hours at least three times a day (more if possible), say the daily Rosary, and attend Mass often.

I’m also working on getting my health more stable and doing Pilates exercises and watching my food intake. I also don’t spend so much time on the computer and I try to sleep throughout the night using deep breathing and relaxing music. So far, in the last two days, I’ve noticed a great difference in my stress release and I feel really good. 🙂

I am praying for you, as well, as I remember those discerning a vocation in my prayer intentions during Vespers. 🙂

Yes I am going on a visit but it will be a “live in” for a week and after that week I am hoping to enter and stay for ever.

I give you my blessing as a Priest, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…through the Intercession of Our Lady of Carmel, may Our Lady keep you faithful as you show the world that Jesus is enough and you can never get enough of Him. If you love spiritual childhood as taught to us by St. Teresa of Lisieux, then always remain small, so small as to fit into the deepest, secret wounds of the Sacred Heart, placed delicately like a rose petal by Our Lady’s hand. Mary will keep you in Love with Jesus, She will keep you in Her Son, through the Spirit in a surprising way each day.

Fr. Dominic
Thank you so much Father this means so much to me I dont know you but that is my job as A Carmelite to pray for you and pray some day you will be a saint!

Poor Clare tobe-You’re very welcome and thank you for the blessings I really appreciate them.

DaughterofMary6-Just by your words alone you are an example to those who want to deepen their faith with God.

Have you ever thought of starting your own webpage for those who are discerning a Vocation?

Sorry if the question seems off or even rude but I’m only asking because you have helped so many people by suggesting communites and whatnot.

Thank you so much for your Prayers. I will keep you and your intentions as well as carmelitegirl93 in my Prayers as well.

May it please the supreme and divine Goodness
to give us all abundant grace
ever to know his most holy will
and perfectly to fulfill it.

carmelitegirl93, we are all Praying for you my dear.

Thank you for the compliment. 🙂

I actually have not considered starting a webpage. I may consider it in the near future after everything gets settled with school and whatnot. I’m very busy right now with applying to the university and finishing my 2-year degree. But that’s a very good idea. It would be nice to make a webpage that is dedicated to all religious orders. 🙂
