Hi
I have alot of issues in my life right now, I’m going through a really bad time and I really need to confess and get some spiritual guidance right now, but I’m uneasy about confessing ‘I really need to open my heart and let it out’. But I’m scared will the priest really keep what I have confidentual, will he think less of me?

Many thanks for your reply

Sweetness,

What an abundance of grace God is bestowing on you at this time as He calls you to Himself during your trials! “I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance.” (Luke 15:7)

I am thrilled to hear of your return to the Sacraments! I’ve linked eight threads below for you because of the resources in each. The first two lay out what you need to do to return to the Eucharist, the next two will help you to prepare for Confession, the following two answer your direct questions about being scared and the seal of confession, and the last two are just in case you wondered. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly. Welcome home!
