How Do I Become Someone Who is Saved?
Recognize that starting with Adam and Eve, “…For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 6:23) Further that “…the wages of sin is death (eternal existence in the lakes of fire—see Revelation ch. 20 and 21); but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Confess. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” ( I John 1:9) “…with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
Repent. Be willing to (and then actually do) turn from sins of thought, word, and deed. “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3) “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…” (Acts 3:19)
Forsake. “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, …for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:7)
Ask, and Receive, Believing on Jesus Christ. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12) “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock (says Jesus Christ): if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
Pray this prayer, believing, and ask Jesus Christ into your heart and life as Savior and Lord: Dear Lord, I know I’ve been a sinner, and I’m sorry. I want to repent and change. Please give me your grace (help) to do this. I believe you died on the cross for my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and live as Savior and Lord. Please teach me, guide me, and help me to be obedient. Thank you for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Proof that you have eternal life starting NOW: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” ( I John 5:11-13) Jesus Christ also said in the Gospel of John (6:37) “him that cometh to me I will in no wise (way) cast out.” Moreover, the Lord also stated in Matthew 24:13, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
An explanation of the born-again Salvation experience you have just taken part of is found in many parts of the Gospel of John. Read this Gospel to find out more about your Savior, especially the third chapter.’
