Sometimes I wonder if our standards make God’s plan harder than it needs to be. St Paul had thorn in his side, would he have passed a physical? He also had a poor reputation and no support except Jesus himself…

He had a thorn of the flesh (vision problems). He had sufficient support from the disciples.

The Holy Spirit is not derailed by human frailty. Even if the people who are in authority fail to get the point, God is always and everywhere able to lead the saints in Triumph!

I don’t know why some people refernce his pain in the flesh as in his side, perhaps because of other Bible references to thorns in the side?

Initially Paul did not have any ones support. It took the convincing the disciple by Jesus …who God had interceded and then that disciple had to convince the other disciples. Acts 9:1-22
