Thank you, Telestia.
Therefore, if Peter’s successor is not the head of the Church, then what earthly authority should Christians listen to, today, to know whether or not they are really following Jesus, or something that isn’t actually Jesus?
Since we have already proven above that the individual interpretation of Scripture is unreliable, since it leads to varieties of contradictory doctrines.
I thank you for your reply JMcrae.
I am not alone.
And I am Guided by New Covenant Laws of Jesus Christ.
I am led by the Holy Spirit, and I keep the Laws of Jesus Christ, or better put, God keeps me by the Laws of Jesus Christ. For it is not a burden to keep them.
But in order to keep the Laws of Jesus Christ, one needs to know them:
There are Three Laws of Christ in the NT.
I. THE ROYAL LAW OF LOVE
James 2:8-9 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF,” you are doing well.
Jesus stated it partially in His Sermon on the Mount:
Mt 5:43-45
" ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Jesus states it in full as His earthly ministry is nearing His crucifixion:
Mt 22:34-40
34 But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together. 35 One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him,
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
37 And He said to him, " ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
The 2nd Law of Jesus Christ is called the Perfect Law,
II. THE LAW OF LIBERTY:
Jas 1:25
But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the Law of Liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.
Here are the axioms of the Law of Liberty:
Mt 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” Jesus
Jas 2:11-13
“Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGEMENT.”
If I want God to forgive my sins, and yes - we all sin throughout our life, I believe Jesus and will be forgive others of their sins, and I know God will mercifully forgive me, and He, through the holy Spirit, will cleanse me of all unrighteousness…
Jesus says He will:
Lk 6:37-38
37 " Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure — pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."
NASU
III. THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS.
ROMANS 1 THROUGH 7 IS ONE LONG ARGUMENT LEADING UP TO CHAPTER 8. THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IS THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT WHO IS OUR HELPER, THROUGH WHOM GOD TRANSFORMS OUR VERY NATURE SO THAT WE MAY DO THE GOOD THAT GOD CREATED US TO DO.
Ro 8:1-8
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. … etc.
When Jesus died on the cross, the Thick Heavy veil in the Jewish Temple was torn asunder. That Veil separated Man from God. Through the Finished Work of Jesus we are once again in full fellowship with God via the indwelling Holy Spirit. It is the work of the Indwelling Holy Spirit that transforms our very nature over time as we walk with God and talk with God.
50 Days after Passover, Moses received on Mt. Sinai THE LAW that bears his name. 50 days after Jesus rose from the dead, Christians received the HELPER, the INDWELLING Holy Spirit.
The amazing thing about these three laws is they do not burden us, but rather, they are fun and most profitable to keep. By them, God keeps us. These are the Laws of Jesus Christ and of the New Covenant.
Embracing these LAWS is my obedience. And they are not burdensome in any way. But pure joy to keep. And we Christians know that joy and can say:
He walks with me,
and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own.
And the joy we share,
As we tarry there,
none other has ever Known.
I trust God in all things. I know He will not fail me. If some heathens one day want to cut my head off, they are most welcome to it. For my savior lives. Hopefully I would get to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them first.
