“أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم”
Muslims recite that verse each time they pray or read Quran, Muslim clerics claim that it keeps the devil away from that person, but even Muhammed himself was saying it, yet Satan revealed him some Satanic verses in (Quran 53:19) which had been cancelled later by Allah through (Quran 22:52):-

Never did We send a Messenger or a prophet before thee, but, when he framed a desire, Satan threw some (vanity) into his desire: but Allah will cancel anything (vain) that Satan throws in, and Allah will confirm (and establish) His Signs: for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom:

So the claim that this verse keeps Satan away is not quite right.

Sahih Muslim Book 004, Number 1106

Abu Darda’ reported: Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) stood up (to pray) and we heard him say:" I seek refuge in Allah from thee." Then said:" curse thee with Allah’s curse" three times, then he stretched out his hand as though he was taking hold of something. When he finished the prayer, we said: Messenger of Allah, we heard you say something during the prayer which we have not heard you say before, and we saw you stretch out your hand. He replied: Allah’s enemy Iblis came with a flame of fire to put it in my face, so I said three times:" I Seek refuge in Allah from thee." Then I said three times:" I curse thee with Allah’s full curse." **But he did not retreat **(on any one of these) three occasions. Thereafter I meant to seize him. I swear by Allah that had it not been for the supplication of my brother Sulaiman he would have been bound, and made an object of sport for the children of Medina.

why would Suleiman, ( Solomon), (who no one saw except Muhammad), take satan’s side instead of letting Muhammad fulfill his threat?

Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 200

Narrated Abu Huraira:

That once he was in the, company of the Prophet carrying a water pot for his ablution and for cleaning his private parts. While he was following him carrying it(i.e. the pot), the Prophet said, “Who is this?” He said, “I am Abu Huraira.” The Prophet said, “Bring me stones in order to clean my private parts, and do not bring any bones or animal dung.” Abu Huraira went on narrating: So I brought some stones, carrying them in the corner of my robe till I put them by his side and went away. When he finished, I walked with him and asked, “What about the bone and the animal dung?” He said, “They are of the food of Jinns. The delegate of Jinns of (the city of) Nasibin came to me–and how nice those Jinns were–and asked me for the remains of the human food. I invoked Allah for them that they would never pass by a bone or animal dung but find food on them.”

Muhammad was pretty friendly with jinns and other hadith say some devilish jinn became Muslims only because they heard the Quran that one wonders, if the Quranic teachings were what Allah has been revealing to all prophets as Muslim says, what took these devilish creatures thousands of years to believe?

Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 12, Number 740

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

The Prophet set out with the intention of going to Suq 'Ukaz (market of 'Ukaz) along with some of his companions. At the same time, a barrier was put between the devils and the news of heaven. Fire commenced to be thrown at them. The Devils went to their people, who asked them, “What is wrong with you?” They said, “A barrier has been placed between us and the news of heaven. And fire has been thrown at us.”

Fire thrown at jinn who are already made of fire according to the Quran?

Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 53, Number 400
Narrated Aisha:
Once the Prophet was bewitched so that he began to imagine that he had done a thing which in fact he had not done.

Sam: I think a better prayer would be “Lord, lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil.” (the last two petitions of the Our Father)

inJesus: Mohammed was trying to scare Satan off by pressing a curse on him? Curses are from Satan himself, though. But I don’t know much about the curses in Mohammed’s time, so I could be wrong. I assume he’s using magic, but I could be wrong. I know of at least once instance where he tried to exorcise someone by using the ancient Christian method, i.e., breathing on the person or in the mouth, effectively giving them the Holy Spirit (similar to the ancient sign of peace, which was a holy kiss) to drive out the evil spirit(s).

You seek refuge against devil in devil’s religion. Islam is evil. It’s a Christian heresy, there are many horrible errors in islam. One of the main ones is rejection of the Trinity. God who was a Trinity in the Bible,6 centuries later became a one-person-God. Interesting, isn’t it? God confirms His words by miracles, and they indeed are in the CC (Fatims, Lourdes, eucharistic miracles). Why there are no such miracles in islam? The Biblical message is the message of love and friendship between God and man, while in koran people are just slaves.

A’udhubillahi min ash-shaytaan ar-rajeem.

The story about the “Satanic verses,” is a fabrication, Sam.

Please read: islamic-awareness.org/Polemics/sverses.html
i can see the authors questioned the reliability of what Ibn Saad and Tabari said, but they did not give the context of the Quranic verse saying Never have We sent a single prophet or apostle before you with whose wishes Satan did not tamper. But God abrogates the interjections of Satan and confirms His own revelations. ( 22:52). If this did not happen, what is the reason for this affirmation that it happened? and if their transmission is not reliable, why do we read in Bukhari:

Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet … prostrated while reciting An-Najm (Sura 53) and with him prostrated the Muslims, the pagans (the Quraysh), the jinns, and all human beings. (Bukhari: volume 2, book 19, number 177)

Why did the pagans prostrate to what they do not believe in?

Here is a verse that if one practices it, no evil desire will ever be manifested in our lives:Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Brethren of all beliefs, if your mind is stayed on God, there can be no room for evil to raise its face in our being.

Whatever your version of who God is and or by what name He is called, if it be the God of all creation, then we have nothing to fear of evil if we place our minds to please Him in and how we exercise the Love He demonstrated to wards us.

If in your heart, love God with all your mind heart and soul, then the next thing is to love thy neighbor as thou lovest thyself.

Peace>>>AJ

My beloved sheikh has answered this question for me. But I don’t think you would like the answer. Nor anyone else. And while I trust my sheikh (who is a very knowledgeable man) I haven’t found a source for his answer so in addition to not thinking you’d like it, the better reason for me to refrain from disclosing the answer is that I lack substantial proof to back it up.

Regarding not liking it, there are many answers we don’t like:D now seriously, maybe you can give it a try as a personal opinion, and i’ll try to help in catching the source. Just a suggestion.

here i will tell you a secret. There are men who claim to “heal” others by Quranic verses, all the while invoking demons and there are those who do not claim to heal by the Quran, but still ask people to pray some verses, all the while invoking bad spirits. How do you like it?

PS: don’t try these people!

Okay then.

The verses of the Qur’an were so powerful that everyone prostrated–everyone, the Muslims and the non-Muslims–when these were recited. Some people had heard about this and one of the people who was present, non-Muslim, when asked why the people prostrated, he told them that there was something positive revealed about their idols so everyone was willing to prostrate. But that was a lie, and he was just making up an excuse so he didn’t have to admit to prostrating at the verses from Allah.

I understand why you didn’t want to post it 🙂 i will try to see if there is any reference because i never read or heard about this. Thank you anyway.

I am sorry I couldn’t help it. :rotfl:

Well hope the poster does not feel bad or discourage. It’s just that I see it differently. …

You can ask inJESUS to explain that to you. Or you can look it up. Chapter 83, verses 29-34.

Sorry I don’t speak the lingo. I can understand if you don’t want to talk about it.

You should look it up. I just transliterated some verses out of the Qur’an, Chapter 83:29-34.
