I went to the JW Site & Signed up for Contacts So I can Get A Free Bible & Publications from them .

I’m not wanting to Join but I do have Family in that Cult & So I’m wanting to Read Their version of The Bible to see What’s in it , & to teach My Family What’s not in Their Bibles & what’s not True in their Bible .

I really Pray that One day God’s Children will wake up From This False Cult & Join GOD’s True Church .

I’m not wanting to Convert My Family But I do Pray that I can talk & make them see that JW’s Teachings & Doctrines & Cult is nothing but Just that A False Cult .
 
But No I’m Not Converting Or Joining any JW Cult Or Church I’m Just Trying to Understand What’s So great About it & what Drives People to this False Religion If we can even Call it Religion .

Reading My Catholic bible Has Made me Believe In our Lord Jesus & the Church Even more .

I also Read My Other Books

Catholicism For Dummies
The Catechism of the Catholic Church
The Cathechism Explained

These Books Have Changed My Entire Life & Has made me feel Closer to God & I can’t wait to Join The Church Officially .
 
I would look for the short books on Apologetics. If you aren’t looking to buy 54$ worth I’m pretty sure one of those 11 books is specifically about JW beliefs and probably you can find it by itself somewhere. It would be good to have the Apologetics book next to you while reading their version of the Bible.
 
Jehovah Is not God , Only God Is God , Jesus & Lord .

Plus were did the Name “Jehovah” come from ? anyone Know

Jehovah is an anglicized version God’s Old Testament name, sometimes spelled as YHWH or JHVH. Some people use Yahweh instead. In Hebrew it looks like this: יְהֹוָה But it is God’s name, the God of Israel.

I’d stay away from JW, because they are very committed and will try to convince you to join them.

Yeah they are , & No I wouldn’t Join them I Love Celebriting Holidays & Birthdays & been in the World & Community as A Person Instead of the ex-Communication they’re doing …LOL
 
I’m sure you could just have used Google rather than wasting their time and money.

it’s going to be difficult and tricky for you, and I hope I’m wrong, but the Jehovah’s witnesses like all false religious cults have become very adept at changing their doctrines according to what they think will give them the best inroads with the would be proselytes. This is the very difficult part because they all will mix lies with the truth and they will always present their persusaions as though they are Biblically supported.
I’m sure you’re on the right track by praying and I’m sure those more expert on this forum can help you address specific problems. Take Care.

If I was in your family I would be enraged by your actions. It is not your place to 1) steal from another faith tradition and 2) to “make them see”. I recommend you leave their conversion to God and focus on aligning your own will with God’s. The more you show up as Christ in all situations the more others will be naturally attracted to the Good News.

Number one is really not applicable since I’m pretty sure your talking about getting a free JW bible. They offer it for free as long as you sit through one of their “bible studies”, the Mormons do the same thing. It can’t be stealing if they’re giving it to you.

“jehovah” is a mistaken name for God. It comes from combineing the consonants from one hebrew word with another hebrew word.

It is totally nonsense and dates back to a time when not much was known about hebrew.

You will find that the “new world translation” uses the false name jehovah when ever possible, and also changes the first chapter of John to make it seem that Jesus is not God.
 
Bad plan for a lot of reasons. They will attempt to convert you…and unless you’re well versed in Catholic apologetics you’ll have a hard time…JW’s have a school in each congregation where they train their faithful to convert folks. You can find non-biased info on JW’s and biased, all over the internet.

Exactly & some Who do Door to Door some times Carry Extra Bibles & Books with them Same with Mormons as well who Offer Free Bibles & Publication’s So its Not stealing If its Free & giving After all These Cult’s are wanting people to Convert into their Cult so Of course their going to Push Free Books , Bibles , & publications out there to try to Convert People .

Its only Bad if you’re Weak minded Like a lot of these Cults Members Would it Be A BAD! Idea , I Believe Jesus Called me to Convert to Catholicism & Become Catholic & I’ve Yet to Break What God has Called me upon Joining his True Church & Bringing him back into my life After Breaking away from the Baptist Church years Ago , I Feel at Home with joining The Catholic Church & Becoming A Catholic I Do not See myself Joining Something like Jehovah Witness Because I’ve never been that Interested in Joining Even w/Having Family in this Cult I’ve never saw Interest in Joining Which means I’m not Weak minded & can’t be manipulated Into thinking A Non-Religion Man Made Cult is Real .

as to say If your Weak minded & not Strong in your own Religion & lack in Reading the Bible then Yes you might be easily to manipulated & Convert into These Cults Which I find a lot of Its members to Be Some are People who’s left Other Religions to Be in A False one because they lack in their own Religion .

I only want to Read their Books Because I’m Wanting to see WTH? they Write & Why My Granny Because St.Michael The Archangel Is God …LOL I Told her She needs to get out of that Cult But shes been in it for years & I’m just Educating myself On these people .

A great thing to own, that will be valuable to you in discussing scripture is "The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures"
It is the JW’s Greek to English translation. In it, you can point out, that they don’t follow the Greek to english in their own “Authorized” book.

It is a pretty good Interlinear translation from Greek to English, done by Wescott and Hort in 1881. It will expose a host of terms they use like*** before Abraham was*** "I have been" instead of "I AM" and host of other Greek to English terms the JW’s change simply to fit their theology!

Free or not…if the intent is to undermine faithful participants in their religion we, as Catholics, should not support such behavior
