My friend and I have different beliefs but we are both Christians. It has been two years, I still think about our last argument. It is difficult we both feel we are right. A priest told me, “you cannot please everyone.” I have been told it is wrong to stop being friends with someone because you disagree. I have also heard good friends sharp each other and challenge each other. I have also heard you will never find anyone who thinks the same way you do. Because I disagree, does not make either of us right or wrong. We just do not see things the same. Sometimes I want to change my personal beliefs to fit in and be right like her. Everyone seems to like her. I feel like I would be being dishonest with myself. Looking back some of things she told me, she was dead right. Why does it always feel like others are right and am I wrong? Part of me wants to be stubborn stop having change myself to please others.
I am not going to discuss what the argument was about. I am embarrassed. Can we both be right and wrong in our own ways?

One of my best friends is a woman who disagrees with most aspects of my faith. but we’re able to love each other nonetheless and our disagreements are less about trying to change the other and more about understanding each other in humility.

You don’t have to end the friendship just because you disagree. If you’re continually arguing and competing, then you might need to re-evaluate; on the other hand, if you’re not, then I’d see very little reason to stop being friends.

I would take a step back, pray for humility when you speak with her to see the truth of her points, and try and engage in a discussion where you learn more about where she’s coming from and why her perspectives are the way they are so that you can learn to love her better. Also, pray for your friendship, that it might help guide you both to the fullness of truth.

Peace.

Sometimes, being right or wrong is just a matter of perspective. I think it’s good when a person can come to not care about being right personally or not. Always agreeing at all times is just plain boring anyways, in my opinion.

Don’t change your opinion to fit in or be more liked. Have integrity in what you believe and people will respect you for it. Disagree with people in a way that shows them respect and consideration, yet maintains your own ground. But don’t be so stubborn when you think there’s a chance you might be wrong. Always listen to opposing viewpoints. People respect you a lot more when you’re actually listening to them and not just waiting to tell them something.

Maybe you should make up with this friend, if you’ve lost them. I think friends are priceless, but unfortunately I’ve lost many for one reason or another. Don’t lose a friend when you think you can do something about it.

I like your quote. Part of me is embarrassed about what I believe because I am not…a certain way. Her beliefs are more realistic and inclusive. I think I would be lying to myself to change. People would not be offended by her beliefs, I am sure people would be offended by mine. I need to learn to actually listening to people, instead waiting to jump in. It is an ugly flaw. I am not sure what to do. I wish I could be different. Why does some people’s Divine Grace are painful journey? I feel like if I follow God I would be one to face persecution, rejection, etc. For some people God is all about love, joy and compassion. For some God is about self-sacrifice and suffering. I think I fit into the latter half. I DO NOT KNOW WHY though. For whatever reason in this life, some people are capable to make through it without professing a belief in God, while others are very dependent on him. We all have different paths to follow. Why are some paths more painful than others? I DO NOT KNOW. Why can’t I be like her, where almost everyone likes me and accepts? I have never been that person. For whatever reason, I run into bumps in the road. Some of my enemies have been because I was not so nice. Some people simply disliked me for one reason or another. It seems like she is perfect she is Christian enough in the right respects and she can fit in well with the outside world. I for whatever reason feel like I can’t. We are all different anyways. Oh well. She sees the gospel more broadly. I am VERY AWARE of subtle sins, some say it is a gift. I find it to be a curse. Part of me wishes I did not see things that way. Most people are not aware of subtle sins. To her, I simply too sensitive. I worry about parts of the bible that are none of my affair. She sees the big picture and big sins. Maybe she is more humble than me. Maybe I am so just jealous that it is not that easy for me to get along with different types of people. Part of me, does not feel that bad about it. I, in general, prefer to be alone. She seems like the role model Christian. I won’t say what I am. LOL.

God chooses whom He wills, Cratus, and that is his Divine perogative. This life and it’s trials demand much patience from us, particularly with ourselves as we grow, ever so slowly by our own observations in any case.

Most who are close to Christ, if not all, have suffered more than others. It is just the way it is. But it is not a reason to fear being close to Christ. For those trials come with their own rewards. Be true to God and to yourself. And don’t get discouraged. Always have Hope and be patient. Pray for when you find yourself lacking something important.

Does it really matter who is right or wrong ? Is it really that important ?
A real Friend would accept a differing opinion to ones self ,
Providing it was accepted and not one sided where only one person was always right
And the other alway wrong,
Unless your married , because the male is always wrong, ask my wife

Always love the truth and be humble and grateful when corrected. God bless you.
