I understood what you were saying. My family never celebrated Halloween either. No trick or treating 🚫
No wonder you’re such a curmudgeon. 👵🚬

Here, you can have my candy corn. 🌽

Well, you can have my corn anyway, since there doesn’t seem to be a candy corn emoji.

We also didn’t get Presents on Christmas. Instead, we got those on St. Nicholas Day.

😱 Oh, the horror! Were your presents nuts, oranges, chocolate coins and lebkuchen? Were they left in your shoes and socks?

Did you grow up in the US? And your teachers didn’t report your parents for child abuse and neglect? 😱

Yeah, I had a really hard life

Oh well, I’m over it :man_shrugging:t2:

Every year, our now deceased priest would warn all of us against the evils of celebrating 👻 🎃. And no, not because we were expected to attend Mass for All Saints and All Souls Days.

Because I respected him so much, I listened and didn’t celebrate it. But I did watch It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on TV. 😊

Cruciferi, I see you’re back to your old self again. Just in time for Halloween. Haaaaa (slaps him on the back)

No, this doesn’t make me crabby. I grew up in a non Catholic church and was basically told trick or treating would cause me to be possessed by demons. So this sounds reasonable to me.

Well it kinda does annoy me. But that’s because I can already hear my liberal friends complaining about cultural appropriation… So it’s more by association.
