Granted, it was slight, but it was no doubt the metallic taste of blood. What do you think of this?
talk to your priest.Red wine is high in levels of iron, which gives that metallic taste of blood.
Why?talk to your priest.
… being that my apartment is really high up from the ground, I just may wonder if it could be one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. When you hear hoofbeats outside the window…![]()
Common sense. Red wine, high in iron, kept in a metal container = metallic taste… If I talked to my priest he would likely to say there is more likely to be a rational explanation.
Because anytime you feel that you received some special ‘grace’ from the Lord in the form of a miracle or a locution, it is a good idea to speak your spiritual director. That way you have a third party involved. Why?
Common sense. Red wine, high in iron, kept in a metal container = metallic taste. It is over scrupulous to think that everything is a miracle. No harm in believing it is, but while it is literally the blood of Christ that does not mean it tastes like it. If I talked to my priest he would likely to say there is more likely to be a rational explanation.
Are there not any such manifestations approved by the Church? Does anyone know? What do I make of it?
It strikes me as one of those stories you hear of some one who took a communion host home and cut it in half with a knife and blood poured out of it. The fact is that Jesus shed his blood once and for all on the cross and therefore any stories you hear of hosts shedding blood are complete nonsense. So whatever you tasted it certainly wasn’t the blood of Christ. That’s not to say you didn’t taste something, but it wasn’t blood from the host - not that you said it was, but some in this thread have taken it that way.
