I think gay stuff is funny

I find their feminine antics funny, not the immoral sex. Is that somehow disordered?
It’s not disordered. Gay people also find effeminate behaviour funny. Are you laughing out of ridicule or do you simply find some mannerisms funny? If it’s ridicule it’s bad, otherwise no. As long as you don’t hate the other person it’s OK.

Many comedians do make use of such effeminate behaviour in their routines. It’s not a problem to find something funny. Of course it may not be good to show that at all times.

why is it wrong?

And (2) if its wrong because it is sinful, then wouldn’t that invalidate satire?

After all it seems possible that any sin whatever is a type of self-parody or satire and if so, can they be laughed at?

As far as I’m concerned there hasn’t been a final answer to this discussion, but I think that an answer is within our reach, so I will not consult a priest yet.
I think you’ll find your answer in Ephesians 5, if you are actually looking for one. I think satire sometimes walks a fine line. Does it make me laugh? Sometimes. Other times I find it has walked past the point of humor into the point of denigration of someone that the author simply wanted to eviscerate. The problem with laughing at sin in particular, especially sexual sin, is it falls under crude humor. We often ignore that admonishment to avoid ‘crude humor’. As the vulgate phrases it, scurrility. I think this sort of abusive joking at the expense of someone can fall well under that.

scurrility-

  1. *]The quality of being vulgar, coarse, or abusive.
*]A vulgar, coarse, or abusive remark or passage.
Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
Vulgate : Or obscenity or foolish talking or scurrility, which is to no purpose: but rather giving of thanks.

  1. 👍 Yes I too had the same thoughts when the poster Fakename almost bragged that he laughts at his sins(and when he sees it acted out on a “gay stuff” --“comedy” show.) If he/she read the account of what Christ Jesus suffered on the Cross for her/his sins(and mine as well) instead of laughting, like the Saints Fakename should be shedding tears instead. The Scriptures tell us how most of the crowd there also found it all very funny and mocked Jesus!

Just before I posted I had been reading Redeeming The Rainbow ,written by Dr.Scott Lively, which I once dowloaded from this site for free.

    massresistance.org/docs/gen/09b/Redeeming_rainbow/

I was reading Dr.Scott explaining about how Jesus did show both his feminine and masculine side.He writes about the different gender traits and the “sissy” male and the “butch” female etc.etc.He gives an explanation about how macho-homosexuals gravitate towards the military forces(a reason not to encourage a “gay” soldier recruitment drive)

.If anyone(including Fakename) is really serious in understanding the issues involved in the “gay” rights movement, then I urge all to read it.He even deals with how the entertainment/media have been taken over by militant persons who want to force a change in society as regards marriage.Has it ever entered any ones head, that these “gay funny stuff” are written and produced by “gay writers” to educate the general public and show that acted out homosexual lifestyles, are a normal mainstream part of our society?🤷-a comedy show!!

(1) why is it [laughing about gays] not wrong?

(2) If you think I should talk to a priest about scrupulosity I’ll go, but it seems ironically overly scrupulous to do so since I’ve already talked to one and he claimed I wasn’t scrupulous at all.

So what’s your opinion?
My opinion is that your asking all these questions for attention.

Agreed.

Take Modern Family, the two gay guys on that show are very funny in a humerous kind of way. I watch it sometimes if there’s nothing else on, and yes, laugh at some of the jokes and situations.

What I don’t find funny, is how that immorality is being normalised by such a show. And what I really don’t find funny [even though they’re fictional characters who don’t exist] is the poor child they adopted and are exposing to such a disgusting lifestyle.

The show is on at 7pm, where young children and other impressionable sorts see it. Its not good at all for the moral fibre of this world.
That’s how the secular media works:

1)Put up a show where there’s a character who is funny, maybe a bit quirky and gay. Don’t say anything more about him, just make his character non-threatening and funny.
  1. Once such characters such as in #1 are accepted, or at least not outright rejected, add an occasional reference to his character’s boyfriend (or girlfriend…same-sex friend in either case). Make it casual and funny. Put them in situations that are funny and non-threatening; they’re just the kooky couple that lives down the hall.
  2. Introduce a gay character as a regular cast member. Give them noble qualities, and never show any negatives about them. They love animals, children, and their grandmothers.
  3. Give the character in #3 a partner, and make their problems equal to problems that married heterosexual couples have on the show. Show everyone that their relationship is just the same as any marriage, except it just happens to involve a same-sex couple.
  4. Introduce some tragic event into #4’s life where the audience can really be “on their side”. The Character gets sick and doesn’t have health care because they aren’t “married”. They adopt a kid from an abusive “traditional” home, but Social Services wants to take the kid away since they’re a gay couple, etc.
There ya go, that’s how it’s done. Secular society now accepts gay couples as the same as any other couple, except they’re discriminated against because the intolerant religious are against them getting married.

:thumbsup:yep–you are spot on!! I personally dislike most modern “funny” sitcoms for the reasons that you summed up so well.I hate “dubbed” laughter for a start, as it is a normal reaction to laugh when we hear laughter.I bet if they cut out the times that the producers wanted us to laugh, we would see the immorality for what it is.God does not find “gay stuff” funny at all;He sent His Beloved Son Jesus, to save us from all forms of immoral behaviour.

I’d be very, very careful with how you word that: not all gay men are effeminate and not all gay women are masculine, any more than all straight women are girly and all straight men are rough and tough. There’s as much variation in their behavior as there is among the rest of the population.
True. And there are plenty of straight men that are so totally girly-boys that it isn’t funny.

I don’t doubt that these rapists want to think of themselves as straight.

Possibly, it’s a problem with labeling.
One must realize that the act of rape may have different underlying motives than other sexual acts (such as a sick psychological need to dominate another person), thus the gender of the victim may not be indicative of where the perpetrator is on the gay/straight continuum (if the perpetrator is even on the continuum).
