I think I am gay and I am afraid that I am going to go to hell..

Hello! I have a problem, I am going off to university next year and I am planning on joining a new church! I’m just feeling awful because I feel like a hypocrite. I think I am gay and I am afraid that I am going to go to hell. I cannot really find any conversion therapy and I honestly don’t understand why I should have to change who I am. Why is homosexuality wrong? Why can’t I just be accepted? Why should I have to hide who I am? Please answer my questions, it would make me feel a whole lot better.
