I am not sure what the inner dynamics of conversions are, but we can’t erase our experience of the past. I have never been a Mormon (though I know two who work at my workplace who are decent enough people, but they never talk openly about their beliefs) so I don’t know what the attractions of their rituals might be.
I think these days people will often have to travel through several religions and conversion experiences before they settle down. You should ask yourself: Why am I Catholic? Why did I join? Do I feel the prescence of the divine here? Can I accept everything the church teaches without objecting or dissenting and in good conscience? What is it I find attractive about the Mormons?
Perhaps in reflecting on these questions you will better understand your spiritual journey and where it is leading to.
