Please help I need help. I know that some things point to the existence of a higher power but I feel lost and empty. I may recently have eaten some wheat or something (gluten intolerance) which makes me very anxious. Wheat has also caused me to think I may be gay which i am not so I hope that this is just part of the same thing. My life would be pretty much devoid of all meaning without god. I need some help like my moms friend is a very spiritual woman who can do some pretty amazing things this is one of the things that is keeping me holding on. Also with the martyrs who knew jesus and all that. I mean y would they just give their lives away for a lie? Or maybe they were just gullible. I feel pretty terrible without god and what about Medjugorje and Garabandal? I mean Medjugorje may be a fake but what about Garabandal? It may not be of god but something paranormal perhaps? I need some help please and if any of you have ever visited Medjugorje please share your experience. Thank you for reading.
 
Make an appointment with your priest for some spiritual guidance and consider a counselor for your anxiety.

What do you want? Proof that God exists, is perfectly good, just, omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent? I can do that. Evidence for Christianity in general? What part? The Bible, the Resurrection? I can do that. Evidence for Catholicism as the correct form of Christianity? I can do that.

You need to tell me what you’re having a problem with first (philosophical and theological questions only, I’m not a psychologist, priest, or medical doctor) before I can begin to answer it.

I personally think Medjugorje is an obvious fraud, and I believe that discussion of unauthorized apparations and locutions is prohibited on this forum. There are plenty of true miracles to believe in - Lourdes, Fatima, Guadalupe - and plenty of certified, ancient wisdom (the Church Fathers) to seek, without running after the new and uncertain.
 
Pray to God and tell Him your feelings, and speak with an orthodox Catholic priest. You are going through a trial that will not last forever. Trust in the Lord to help you, and seek out a good, holy priest. I will pray for you. Persevere!

I have some health problems as well and know where you’re coming from. I thought I had Celiac for awhile but don’t. I’m on a completely raw diet with raw juice and is helping me. I recommend you look into something like this. Food is extremely important, not only physically, but physiologically, emotionally and spiritually. I’d also recommend the book What Would Jesus Eat by Dr. Don Colbert.

You’re definitely on the right road with that statement. In fact, I just read that in a book I’m reading. There are a lot of good Apologetic books on this subject. Right now, I’m reading I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist by Norman Geisler and Frank Turek. The stuff on the proof of the existence and divinity of Jesus is excellent stuff. You’ll be underlining and highlighting a lot of common sense stuff.

I’d also highly recommend Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Every Christian should read that book.

I agree with everyone else. You should contact one of your local priests and just sit down with them. I’d also recommend a spiritual advisor. Honestly, don’t worry about your current crisis. I see one of these threads pop up at least every other day on here. With a little nudge and some research on God, The Church and Jesus, you’ll be right as rain once again.
