My wife and I collect miniature Garden gnomes and have them at various spots throughout the house. My family and I left for vacation, and when we retuned the gnomes had all completely changed places. My wife was last to leave the house and first to enter it when we got back. Some of the gnomes have been glued into place in their new position. At first we were freaked out and thought someone had broken in, but nothing was stolen and there were no signs of forced entry.
Two days later, the story became stranger. In our living room, we have several toy blocks with letters on them arranged on our shelf. My wife and I sleep right next to the living room, and my wife is a very light sleeper, so no one could have been in the living room without us hearing. However one morning we walked into the living room, and the blocks had been rearranged into two profane words (fg and dck). My husband and I thought at first that one of our older children had done it as a misguided joke, but after seeing their reactions it was apparent that none of them had done it. However that was not the end.
The next morning, by two year old son ran into my room (before my wife and I got up) and said “mommy there’s a man making strange noises in the kitchen.” My wife and I ran into the kitchen but found no one. Our son repeated the sentence two more times, and then pointed onto the back porch and said “there’s the man.” However there was no one there. The child can give a very vivid description of the man, and reproduce a strange grunting sound that the man supposedly made. Additionally, the family dog has begun behaving very strangely, and often refuses to go into particular rooms of the house, and on occasion attempts to climb into my bed at night. He had never done this before the past two weeks.
One day ago, my wife and I were not at home, and my 15 and 13 year old sons were at home with our two year old. My 15 year old was in his room when he heard a deep male voice coming from the opposite room. He immediately ran downstairs to his siblings and locked them in our bedroom before (stupidly) returning upstairs to look for the intruder. He heard more voices, but could not find anyone physically present.
Is this even possible that a house can be haunted? Should I call a priest? Or move? Or what? My family is all very visibly shaken.
