from Jesus the Christ and gave to the Bible.

I see this when they insist that the Bible is the final authority. What do you think people?

I think that’s a great question. Many people do elevate the Bible and make it a fourth member of the Trinity. Hmmmm… I’m interested to read what others have to say.

I think you have made an interesting observation. I have encountered Protestants who think that St. John in the first chapter of his Gospel is speaking about the Bible. They honestly believe that the Bible created the world and then became “flesh” (a book that you can hold and pick up) and dwelled among us.

I would not say that all or even most Protestants think like that, but I have encountered a few of them who do.

Well from my personal encounter with many Protestants is that they believe since the Bible contains the Word of God,thus by default, the Bible is the final authority.

Aaaahhh…not exactly!

Oy.

I’d say that anyone who thinks that’s what “logos” means needs to do a word study. Such a beautiful concept about our Lord shouldn’t be misunderstood.

Yes, I am waiting for replies and explanations.

**2Pet 3:16-17, St. Peter said, “…In these Epistles there are certain things difficult to understand, WHICH THE UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE DISTORT, JUST AS THEY DO THE REST OF THE SCRIPTURES ALSO, TO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION. YOU THEREFORE, BRETHREN, SINCE YOU KNOW THIS BEFOREHAND, BE ON YOUR GUARD LEST, CARRIED AWAY BY THE ERROR OF THE FOOLISH, YOU FALL AWAY FROM YOUR STEADFASTNESS.” **

Ah but Jesus says that the Church is the pillar and Bullwark of the Truth and not the Bible.

Yes and more important,Jesus founded His Church and last time I checked,he did not hand out Bibles at Pentecost.

My experience with a non-Catholic who is director of Bible studies in his church, who happens to be my friend, doesn’t try to reply my question to him that whether he ever checked where exactly did the Bible come from. His response? Nothing! It Goes to one ear and out the other. 😃

Bible is his world, however he’s too afraid to ask I think. 🤷

Yeah, they call us idolaters.

When they’re actually worshipping a book.

Though, I know most Protestants don’t, but there are that, ughm, select few. The Holy Scriptures, are so misinterpreted and preached with lies that they become a whole entire different scripture, and not the Sacred Scriptures, in inerrant word of God.

Seems as though your friend is afraid to find out something which may rebuke or challenge his personal beliefs. 🤷

Of course he is afraid to find out that all he learned was false. This is a problem because it will take one to humble himself and that is no easy thing to do.

They have been told that and have believed yet the Truth is so beautifull once is found.

Yes. That’s also my feeling. Besides, he’ll lose his job as Director.😛

He’s been in his church for 30 years and moved up the ranks. He would have to step down and humble himself but that would mean losing his job. He prides himself knowing the Bible like the back of his hand.

I also asked is it A Bible for the Church or A church for the Bible. Again silence… that concept was too much for him to take I think.👍

Could you please provide one link that shows “many people taking the Bible and making it a fourth member of the Tritnity”?

Otherwise I assume this is just hyperbole and a correction is forthcoming.

Who believes that?

This thread has gotten quite ridiculous.

And while you are it could you please prove that they are “worshiping a book”

From what I have read here Catholics (rightly) complain when Protestants say they are “worshiping Mary”. But why is this not exactly the same thing.

There is a word for this. It begins with “hyp…”

Bumping thread.

I am still looking for a link from say some organizations statement of faith that says “We believe the Bible to be the fourth member of the trinity”. Or something like that.

Or maybe just a little tiny statement that “We worship the Bible as we do the trinity”. Or something like that.

Just a little something please that can back up what you are saying.

Otherwise I will say that you are spreading falsehoods (lying) and being slanderous.
