I turn 30 tomorrow!

That’s right - on 16 Apr 1975, a not so shiny star was born! 😃

Anyway, my wife is on here often - some of you may recognize her (AFMama or something).

SHE BOUGHT ME A BALL PYTHON!!!

The one animal she SWORE would never be in our house is now a few feet from me - what a beautiful creature of God!!!

Sorry - I know this isn’t on par with the usual stories, but I had to share. Also, I have heard from my comander there is a 95+% chance I will be discharged for not making it through pilot training. The USAF needs to get rid of 4,000 officers by October, and they figure anyone who fails a training course deserves the chopping block. I ask you to pray that I can excell in my current job (research of combat trauma for the chaplaincy and developing a database for our data), Our base commander was just selected to become a general, so I still have some hope that by doing a good job I can stay in the AF. Please pray for me and that God’s will be done! :amen:

First of all, sorry to hear about you turning 30. That’s terrible, I don’t wish that on anybody. Just kidding! Happy birthday!

On the second note, have you given any thought to the blue to green program? If you don’t want to do that, you could always try to cross train into Security Forces. 12 hour shifts and everybody hates you, but you get to stay right? Good luck on whatever happens though.

I will pray that you get the job you want in the AF. How come they need to get rid of so many officers? I heard that they were short on quotas! That MSM, wrong again!

The Army and Marines is short on quotas. The Air Force, however, is having a banner year!

Yeah, with the force shaping going on, they are asking those of us in College on an AFROTC scholarship to consider leaving with no strings attached.

As my grandfather (rest his soul) used to say: “Oh, to be 60 again!”

I won’t tell you how many years its been since 30. But, in my mind, I’m still 17. Enjoy the day and many blessings for a long and healthy life.

Hey! Twenty years before you were born, my parents got married! They are no longer with us on earth, and they would have had their 50th. yesterday (Good things have happened on April 16…except for those late taxpayers)

I will send up a lit candle today at church for your situation.
