I have some serious concerns about Liturgy and Sacraments, related to Our Diocese. I initially wrote regarding those concerns to my Local Bishop but response was not positive. So I want to take those concerns to CDW.

I don’t know how to approach CDW. Is there any mail Id so I can send a mail to them.

Here it is. It appears that the CDW actually has its offices outside the Vatican itself, within the city of Rome.

Congregatio de Cultu Divino et Disciplina Sacramentorum
Palazzo delle Congregazioni
Piazza Pio XII, 10
00193 Roma
ITALIA (Italy)

Thank you, but is there any email Id. I am from India. If I send letter through post it may take too many days so.

Take it to the Archbishop next. Go up the correct chain .

Actually National Bishop conference itself taken few decisions which are contrary to the Church Law. So i dont think If I communicate this to His Excellency Arch Bishop will change the decision so.

Nevertheless, it would be prudent to climb the ladder one rung at a time. If you bypass any level of the hierarchy before contacting the CDW, they may tell you to go back and first raise the issue with whomever you went around.

I would be surprised if the CDW would consider this sort of subject via email.

Why do you think a national bishops conference would (a) act contrary to Canon Law, and (b) not have the Vatican be in full awareness of their actions - one way or another?

Would you share what you think are decisions contrary to Canon Law?

Actually, it is bishop then CDW. That is the correct approach.

The OP already wrote to his bishop and received a response. The CDW is an appropriate step.

Archbishops are not over other bishops in a hierarchy, they are fellow bishops.

And bishop’s conferences are likewise not in authority over a bishop.

Before writing, I would just be careful that the “abuses” are indeed “abuses”. In some cases it could be the exercising of licit options, in others, there may have been an indult issued for your country or diocese. It would help to know what the abuses are.

Or it could just be the case of a simple mistake. We’re all human, and “mistakes” are not abuses. They’re just mistakes.

It’s best to be really informed before complaining.

OP, can you help us out a little bit with what your concerns are? There is a lot of legitimate diversity in practice throughout the Church, and it is entirely possible that the things you are concerned about are, in fact, not contrary to established canon law or liturgical norms. Plus, I’m curious 🙂

Some on these boards appear to take the position that, just because a priest or bishop or bishops conference is doing something, it must be totally fine and compliant with canon law, and we ought not to ask questions, because we all know a cleric would never do anything bad. I, of course, disagree with that. But it remains the case that, typically, clerics are in a better position than most of us to determine what is licit and what is not. And of course, there are many things that are licit that might violate one’s sensus fidei or sensus ecclesia. Discernment really is key here.

Hi, Actually I asked permission from His Excellency Our diocese Bishop for Communion on tongue, His excellency didn’t gave permission. It is against what Church teaches in Redemptionis Sacramentum paragraph 92.

Also many of parishes in India do not use Communion plates. I had written letter to National Bishop Conference to take necessary steps to avoid this liturgical abuse. But till now no actions taken. Again its against what Church teaches in Redemptionis Sacramentum paragraph 93.

Also I was denied of Sacrament of Confession for two times. In Last 3 months.

I have lots of respect for my Parish priest and Bishop. But above that I am concerned about reverence to Our Eaucharistic Lord and Souls who are in need of Sacraments.

Thank you🙂

Are you sure that not being allowed to receive on the tongue is due to the Bishops concerns about the risk of covid-19. In many countries temporarily receiving on the tongue is not permitted. Have you asked that question to your priest and bishop.
