I want to be prepared

It seems like almost everytime I have a conversation with my protestant friend she tends to make comments here and there negatively about the Catholic faith. I’ve recently started studying more of the my Catholic Bible, but how can I try to Evangalize her. What passages or what subjects do u suggest I come should come upon when she tries to tell me that the Catholic is an antichrist? How can I help her understand the beauty of Our Catholic faith? She’s a sweet friend but I would really like to learn how to Evangalize more. Please help or suggest material I can study to help me improve in this particular area.

A recent lecture hosted by my parish given by Ascension Press, I bought 2 pamphlets called “The Bible Thumper”.

Volume 1 is Authority, Beliefs & Practices, and Salvation. Volume 2 is Sacraments, Morality, and Afterlife. There are subtitles: for example—under Authority, "some verses used to support “Sola Scriptura” (Protestant view), then goes on to give Catholic reasoning against Sola Scriptura, with biblical passages cited to support the reasoning. Both pamphlets are packed with lots of biblical verses, and Catholic reasoning on so many subjects, too many to list here…

The pamphlets come packaged together and cost $10.

Another way is to not evangelize directly but instead to conduct apostolate by being a sincere and generous friend, for years. Being so quietly full of the Holy Spirit tha t she or he can sense the serenity and joy and stability of God in you. Over time this joy will become irresistibly attractive and it will encourage this person to ask questions about your Faith and resilient supernatural outlook.

For me reading James 2:24 was really powerful. Every passage hits someone differently though depending on where they are in their spiritual life…

If you can convince your friend that the Catholic Church is the original church of the Apostles and the earliest Christians, then everything else will likely fall into place.

I would show her writings of the Church Fathers from the first few centuries. Their writings are not inspired, but in whole, they reveal what the earliest Christians believed and how they worshiped. Those beliefs and practices were clearly Catholic.

Then, lead her into the Protestant Reformation. Show her that the Catholic Church had existed for 1,500 years before the many thousands of Protestant denominations began to form.

If you can convince her to take an honest look into the history of Christianity, then she will find answers that she is not expecting.
