The ironic thing is, what we nowadays often call the ‘Roman’ chasuble actually have its origins in Northern Europe and was even resisted in Rome for a time!

The very full ‘conical’ (aka bell) chasuble.

‘Borromeon’-style chasubles, named after St. Charles Borromeo (who, complaining against shorter chasubles of his day, legislated that a chasuble should reach almost to the heels in length and be at least 51 inches wide). Somewhat midway between the ‘fiddleback’ and more fuller, ample forms.

I love the look of the Roman Chasubles! I thought they were only used pre-vatican II in the Tridentine Mass!
My favorite OF priest prefers to use Roman Chasubles over the Gothic ones.
