I want to come home

I have been a member of the forums here for quite some time. Some of you know that I am an ordained deacon in the primitive catholic church on the road to the priesthood. Sadly, this church is not in union with Rome. I have come to the realization that God needs holy men in the Church, not trying to recreate it on the outside. I have sent email to the vocations director and the archbishop for the archdiocese of Cincinnati to ask about coming home, I have not heard from them yet. It scares me, I studied long and hard to become a deacon and have continued studying in the two years since. I am about a year away from ordination to the priesthood, but I have decided that even if my ordination is considered null and void and that I could no longer be a deacon or become a priest, that I would prefer to be in union with Rome as a layperson than not in union as clergy.

Please pray for my situation.

Your humility is awe-inspiring. In this age, when even deeply Catholic folk want everything “my way” it is an inspiration to read of such graceful surrender to the Person of Jesus Christ in His Church.

My own conversion very much hinged on the realization that for authenticity, it had to be on HIS terms, not mine.

You have received and are responding to a VERY great grace. No wonder you are scared. If you were baptized Catholic, depending on the particulars of your case, the road could be quite rocky for one who has received major Orders in another church.

Thursday is the day I particularly dedicate all of my prayer for the Priesthood. I’ve just tucked you into my prayer-pocket. God love ya!
