I just wanted to thank all the Catholics who visit and post here in the non-catholic religions forum. You have done more to strengthen my faith in the LDS Church than anyone else I have come across so far. The discussions that arise from your comments and questions have been truly faith stregthening for me. The responses that you get from such knowledgable people as Parker D. and othe regular LDS posters have answered many questions that I have had over the years but struggled to find answers for. Thank you for helping my faith become stronger than it has ever been!
Annie

Likewise, reading past posts shared by Mormons, their responses have only clarified my own life’s commitment as an Apostolic Catholic Christian.

Ok, it may be rude, but I have to :rotfl:

“I went to CAF and passed God’s test of faith!” lolsy

Likewise, conduct of Diana and others, plus the nonsensical responses from many of the LDS posters, and the inane justifications of the LDS posters have helped me be a stronger Catholic. I went thru a time where I had considered going back to the LDS Church. I missed it very much. The LDS posters here choked that desire right out of me.

So, thank you.

I am glad that we have both had our faith strengthened!🙂

It is sad that you cannot be thankful without being more respectful to the LDS posters. I was in no way insulting or derogatory to the Catholics here - I just wanted to say thanks.

I have to agree.

I also have to commend the very knowledgable Catholic posters on here

I was not disrespectful. I was being very honest and open. You have my apologies if honesty offends you.

But as to respect, there have been LDS posters who are horribly disrespectful, and they are the first to complain if you respond in kind.

But, regardless, I thank you and the other LDS posters.

Really?
Your comments were provocative and inflammatory and I think you know that since this is Catholic Answers Forum.

I thought better of members of LDS until your sarcastic posts.

Your posts have neither strengthened nor weakened my already strong faith in the Catholic Church.

Let me get this straight—you feel the Catholic posters in here have failed to make their case for Catholicism so your conclusion is to accept a religion by a false prophet in the 1800’s who was convicted by a jury for peep stone-gazing, who has “translated” Egyptian scrolls that proved themselves to be totally NOT what he claimed they said, who “translated” bronze plates full of anachronisms and fake archaeology. Catholics dropped the ball in here so you decide to accept a religion that believes God has human form, has a goddess wife, the planet Kolob, spirit babies in pre-existence, a religion that used to discriminate against blacks as priests because of their “cursed” status according to Mormonism but now does ordain them, a tithing life-controlling worldwide cult that once practiced polygamy and thinks you can retro-baptize people and eternally marry folks in secret sealing chambers. Gotcha.

I feel the Protestants and some Orthodox in this thread often make their points much better than Catholics but my conclusion is not to jump into a starfighter bound for Kolob and read Doctrines and Covenants. Wowzers? 🤷

Those Catholics have failed you horribly if they were not able to convey to you the Fullness of Truth in the Catholic Church.

How very sad.

Thank you. I think that disrespect of ANYONE’S religiong or beliefs is unacceptable. I am sorry that there have been disrespectful LDS posters here. And no, honesty does not offend me; what offends me is when people cannot reply to a possitive post using only possitive words- why does negativity have to worm it’s way in at all? You do not have to like or agree with my faith to be polite. Let’s face it - there have been disrespectful posters of bothe LDS and Catholic faiths in this forum.

THe catholics here did not drop any ball that made me accept anything. I said they STRENGTHENED my faith - I did not say they changed it or caused me to accept anything that I had not already accepted.
You are in my prayers -

I’m sorry, but your attempt at being thankful and gracious isn’t really coming off that well.

It is a shame that you would have to come to a Catholic forum to have your faith strengthened. Couldn’t that have been done on a mormon forum? Speaking with your bishop? Home teachers?

To many of the posters here, including us, starting a thread like this, with the title that you did appears to be rather inflammatory, so please don’t act like a scolded puppy when you get called on it. It really isn’t flattering.

May I ask which comments you are refering to? And yes, this is Catholic Answers Forums. Are you aware that I posted in the Non Catholic Religions forum? Provocative and inflamatory ? hmmm…That is the first time that someone has said that when I have said “thank you”
Annie

True.

Remember, the basic premise is that after the Apostles, there were no Christians until…1800 years later…and even the name of ‘Christian’ isn’t used because of everybody’s baggage.

So what is there then to learn from us?

I did not come here to have my LDS faith strengthened. I came to learn more about the RCC.
I have my faith strengthened from many sources. Ca just happened to be one of them!

I think it is a good candidate for

passiveaggressivenotes.com/

“painfully polite and hilariously hostile”

May be try going back a few posts and click ‘Real TV’ Catholic show. May be that will help and no back talk either.

I’m sorry, you might want to peddle that somewhere else, because we’re not buying it.

I see one of your previous posts says you were Catholic at one time. Here is a quote from one of your posts on a thread that is now closed. (bolding mine)

Instead of being angry with them you might try praying for them! When I was a practicing Catholic there were often times where the behavior of others irritated me at Mass, but then I realized that I was probably being judgmental and I would try and pray about it rather than getting steamed!

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?p=6178358#post6178358

For someone who states they were Catholic at one time, your posting history shows an obvious lack of knowledge for some reason.

I should also add that if you were looking to learn more about the Catholic church, why are the VAST majority of your posts on the “Non-Catholic” portion of CAF? One would think that if you were really wanting to learn more about the Catholic church, that you would have been asking questions in the Liturgy and Sacraments, Apologetics,or Evangilization sections.

Sorry, but it all just doesn’t add up now does it?
