I was married in a Protestant church, Am now Catholic, Is my marriage valid?

My wife and I were married in the Episcopalian church. Shortly after getting married, we both were received into the Catholic Church. Does the Catholic Church see our marriage as valid? Do we need to get “re-married” in the Catholic Church?

It is valid, yes. No, you don’t. However, if you weren’t married already, you’d have to be married in a Catholic church (in most cases). But since you were already married, you’re good.

As has already been mentioned, you are validly married and there is no further action on your part necessary.

However, what you can do, if you like, is ask the priest for the Nuptial Blessing. He can do it in Mass or after Mass. It’s a nice blessing the Church imparts on married couples and can be receive if it hasn’t been received before. It is in no way necessary, it’s just something you can do if you want to.
