Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

Over the summer I got credit cards. This never goes well for me. I should have known better. I bought things for the house. I bought clothes for work. I bought gifts for my friends and family. I enjoyed what I thought was a “normal” life and became overly attached to material things. It is a sin that I must confess.

Now, I am over $12,000 in debt. I have no idea how to resolve this. I have been praying to our beloved Infant of Prague for guidance. Please pray with me that a solution will be made clear and I can find a way to pay off these debts.

I was stupid, I know. O Lord, please be merciful to me, a fool.:crying::

While I am essentially right there with you, I will pray for you as well.

I would advise you to really consider the consequences of using a debt relief/debt counseling company. Unless your credit score is already shot, then stay away from them. If you are able to maintain payments, even while not seeing immediate relief, then I would advise you to keep doing that.

I have read and studied this in great depth, and will gladly share my knowledge with you if you would like.

Again, know that I am in the middle of a struggle as well, however, I will continue to include you in my prayers.

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Liturgy_Geek), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. I am praying for you … we ave all been there :o- you are not alone :console:… many of us have climbed out of debt or are in the process of climbing out of debt 👍…

You can do this with prayer :gopray:and the Grace God will send you, the prayers of others and discipline to take control of your life …

There is a truism that tells us “God helps those who help themselves”

Take control of your self and your finances - develop a plan … I know there are those who don’t like Dave Ramsey but he really has helped people get out of debt … read “The Total Money Makeover” - you can check it out at the library. I feel for you. I once did something similar in my student days, and I can still remember the tongue-lashing I received from my dear mother as a result.

I am a little more prudent these days, but not much.

I work a second job at my parish as a cantor. I get paid for the work. I will look into Lyft and Uber to see if they are in my town. I know we have a Dominos, so that might be an option for more cash. Thank you! God bless you!
