I’m not sure what you are hoping to gain by this question. Most people who post at CAF are adults, not teens.
So, yes, since I am 42 I would feel “weird” dancing the way teens do. However, teens don’t feel “weird” doing it because it is simply a part of their culture, what they see on TV and what “everyone” is doing. And I didn’t feel “weird” dancing at my high school prom in the 80s, although I’m sure a lot of our moves were considered tasteless back then too and our parents would have felt “weird” dancing that way. Yeah, I can just see my dad dancing to AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Poison, Journey… NOT.
It is the adults in the teens’ lives who must mentor them on why this behavior is not appropriate. If no one does so, they will think it’s normal. And, even with a lot of mentoring, there will be plenty of kids who do it anyway because it’s just “fun” to dance. A lot of them aren’t intending it be sexual, even though it certainly is. Keep in mind that parents pay for lots of young girls to go to dance classes, where they learn some of this stuff. Ever watched some of the kiddie dance programs? Ugh!
