I will not enter Heaven until all my spiritual children have been allowed in

I usually am more drawn to pray to St. Michael and St. Jude.

Mostly I pray to the Blessed Mother.

He is not the first saint to feel this way.
“For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race,” Romans 9:3
I think he might have changed his mind though. We all see through a mirror darkly, so it is to be expected that we do not have the right perspective on what it will be like after we die.

There’s a Facebook group for becoming a spiritual child of Padre Pio.

Really, though, I’m sure just asking Padre Pio directly would work just as well as getting your name on a written list.
True. I did that a year ago or so…

My thoughts as well. Saint though he might be, and one of my favorites, he wont be able to make any adjustments to how things are done once he has entered the kingdom. His wishes though, speaks volumes on what a great priest, leader, spiritual director and living Saint he was.

I personally AM one of those “spiritual children” {Thank God!}

But I’m not sure if this is this GREAT Saints call to make [though certainly Jesus COULD permit it]

He is an amazing example of all good things to each of us.
St. Pio please pray for your Church, and its needed cleansing. Amen

Patrick

It’s not just a name on a list, there are requirements to meet.
It’s a bit like a third order without the order I’d that makes sense.
I will find out more and post.

Ok, yes I suspected as much.
Personally, I think we need to consider that it could be pride, ,not that it has to be. There are many people who, for generally traumatic reasons, consider themselves unworthy of varied things. This is very painful issue for those who suffer from it and to treat it as an excess of pride is not only unhelpful, it can be further traumatizing. I would suggest spiritual direction with a religious that you trust and who knows you well.

Thanks, but I know almost no one “well” and certainly no religious people, so I’ll probably just continue to muddle through with God’s help.

I think so too, and I’ve asked Padre Pio directly also. I think about Jesus when he said, “He who comes to me I will not cast out” and I think that surely, Padre Pio, as holy as he is, would be no different than his Lord.

Hey, I heard if you are thinking of choosing a saint to be your special friend for the year or such… THAT SAINT is really choosing YOU! So there… you have your answer, if that is true… 🙂

Agreed, sometimes the Saint picks us. Just like in this life how it could be myself or the other person who first initiates the attempt at friendship.
