Romans 6 is understood in light with the OP scripture. It is being baptized into Christ through the Spirit.

The last Catholic who called me Deformed was quick to repent and ask for forgiveness. BTW…I’m just a wretched sinner in process by the transforming grace of God. Here is the Forum rule that applies if Scripture does not convict you.

You have been presented by multiple scriptures that clearly teach baptismal regenerations. Its really hard to respect your arguements when you refuse to acknowledge what is clearly there.

Yes. The Spirit comes and cleanses us of all sin.

Come home Reformed! It has to be difficult using only half of Divine Revelation. You’re coming up with all sorts of heretical ideas. If you had the Fullness of Truth perhaps you could really put that mind to use with something true and useful!

BTW. Isa is not a Catholic. Though with his/her devotion and sincerity of belief, I wish s/he was!

I’m sorry, that’s an exclusive Catholic and Mormon Christian belief. Other Christian communities reject the doctrine of baptismal regeneration in the light of sola scriptura.

I was baptized as a baby into Congregationalism. Congregationalism is neither Catholic or Mormon.

I’m surprised you would say such a thing when you know that Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura Martin Luther believed and taught baptismal regeneration and that it is atill taught by the Lutherans today. Just ask TriuneUnity. The early Church fathers unanimously taught baptismal regeneration, including Augustine, whom Calvinists love to cite. It was unanimously taught by the church and went unchallenged for 1,500 years until John Calvin suddenly figured out that all the Church Fathers, respected thologians, and saints of the last 1,500 were wrong and that even Martin Luther was wrong . Both the Bible and the historic Christian understanding of baptism contradicts Calvinism.

And your attempt to associate Catholicism with Mormonism has been noted.

First, the vast majority of Christians around the world believe in baptismal regeneration. That includes, Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Christians from the Ancient Assyrian Church of the East, Lutherans, and those of the Anglican communion. It ain’t just Catholics and the non-Christian mormons.
Second, sola scriptura has nothing to do with it. Baptismal regeneration is such a scriptutally supported doctrine, that if a person really believes in sola scriptura, and if the person is honest with his or herself, then that person should not be able to help but believe in baptismal regeneration.
Third, baptismal regeneration was the absolute universal belief of Christianity for 1500 years. That universiality disappeared only when the likes of Calivin came on the scene. Not even Luther dared reject such a well supported teaching.
Fouth, the *rejection *of baptismal regeneration remains an extreme minority position in all of chrisendom.
