The last Catholic who called me Deformed was quick to repent and ask for forgiveness. BTW…I’m just a wretched sinner in process by the transforming grace of God. Here is the Forum rule that applies if Scripture does not convict you.
St. John Chrysostom says “if you speak evil with Truth, it is still a crime.” I apologize.
By your authority and definition?

Yes. The Spirit comes and cleanses us of all sin.

Come home Reformed! It has to be difficult using only half of Divine Revelation. You’re coming up with all sorts of heretical ideas. If you had the Fullness of Truth perhaps you could really put that mind to use with something true and useful!

You’ll be in my rosary tonight. May Mary watch over you, and obtain your conversion from her most Holy Son.

BTW. Isa is not a Catholic. Though with his/her devotion and sincerity of belief, I wish s/he was!
I’m a he, and Catholic, but not under the Vatican. But I appreciate the compliment, I hope I become worthy of it.

Hi, Reformed
Are you saved ?

“For it is not the man who commends himself that is accepted,
but the man whom the Lord commends.”
2Corinthians 10:18

Some non-catholic pastors teach that all you have to do to achieve salvation is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, and your salvation is assured in this life. You only have to make a once in a lifetime commitment. Not all ! But some ! > a point of disunity in teaching] and no matter what you do for the rest of your life, you can be certain that you will go to Heaven when you die.
Once you do this, it is an impossibility that you will ever lose your salvation. That train of thought, however, is not Biblical, and in reality it is a sin of presumption.Jesus did not die just so we could sin.

And this: Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples= students]of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”

Quote = OneNow1, Did every one notice,Jesus says to Baptize first and then teach. Was this grammatical mistake from the Holy Spirit ? OH, by the way the catholic church does not sprinkle !

Joke : A Baptist minister was teaching a catholic priest how they baptize. Now pastor Bob told the priest to start walking in the water. So the priest stopped when he was up to his knees. Pastor Bob said keep going. The priest was up to his chin when pastor Bob said dunk your head. The priest replied see I told you it was the head that was important. Old Joke:shrug:

**I love this text, but I am not so sure that it’s referring to water baptism. Maybe we can discuss it a bit more, and share some insights! I still have to learn how to leave links to other threads - (and customize the link to say what I want it to say) - any help?

So anyways - I started a thread called “Water and Spirit” (The New Birth) - come check it out! 👍 **

Hi, Reformed
Are you saved ?
Well, I have asked on several posts in what it means to be saved. What are we saved from and from whom? After you answer those questions according to Scripture, I will give you my answer.

What? We are not good enough to share your “wisdom” with?

HI,
Ex 32:33:
“The Lord answered, ‘Him only who has sinned against Me will I strike out of My book’”?

Then there is Rom 11:22, “See, then, the goodness and the severity of GOD: His severity towards those who have fallen, but the goodness of GOD towards you if you abide in His goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.”

“But that servant who knew his masters will, and did not make ready for him and did not act according to his will, will be beaten with many stripes.” Luke 12:47

Who are those who gloss over these verses and present a blind eye to them?
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are immorality, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, witchcrafts, enmities, contentions, jealousies, anger, quarrels, factions, parties, envies, murders, drunkenness, carousings, and suchlike. AND CONCERNING THESE I WARN YOU, AS I HAVE WARNED YOU, THAT THEY WHO DO SUCH THINGS WILL NOT ATTAIN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.” Gal 5:19-21

In short not obeyig the ten commands; or if you prefer the 11th command from Jesus Love your neighbor which encompasses all the commands !

And all these summed up means to obey the will of God . The original sin of Adam= The Idolatry of ones own intellect PRIDE!

From = Our own refusal to obey God.

Whom= The judgement of God.

Peace. OneNow1

PS. I’m not ready to write a thesis, I hope you get the point. I’m just a retired pipefitter being blessed in my retirement.

Thanks, that was very good! I hope you are enjoying your retirement. This is what I believe we are being saved from. Maybe we are saying the same thing?

Romans 5

Peace with God Through Faith

5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we [1] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith [2] into this grace in which we stand, and we [3] rejoice [4] in hope of the glory of God. 3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. - Rom 5

What? We are not good enough to share your “wisdom” with?
I have no personal wisdom. But we know where to find it.

Paul’s Ministry to the Church

24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me. - Col 1

No not really. Pope Leo X coined the phrase of “wild boar”. This beast was used by God to bring out the truth of the gospel of God’s grace…"…if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace."
What I say is borish is my perception of your purpose. Do you think that God sent you here to this Catholic forum to discredit Catholicism and proselytize the theology of the Reformed Protestantism? That is the impression have.

No not really. I think all Christians should proclaim Christ to other Christians. I never get tired of hearing other Christians preach Christ to me. I love to hear the gospel of God’s grace proclaimed to me everyday because I too struggle in this life. I’m not much for denominational labels. I only used the screen name “Reformed” as a shortcut to help others understand where I am comming from. The Reformed Faith and the Roman Catholic Church cannot save us. In reality, there is only two humanities. You are either in Christ or in Adam, regardless of your flavor of Christianity.
