This Thursday, March 26, I will be undergoing a total hip replacement. I have had some experience with this type of surgery, a total knee 12 years ago, but I have to admit to some nervousness.

Please remember me in you prayers.

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you. Allow Your healing Hand to heal John. Touch his soul with Your compassion for others; touch his heart with Your courage and infinite Love for all; touch his mind with Your Wisdom, and may his mouth always proclaim Your praise. Teach John to reach out to You in all his needs, and help him to lead others to You by his example.
Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring John health in body and spirit that he may serve You with all his strength. Touch gently this life which you have created, now and forever.

and on a side note, they have really come a long way in advancements for this kind of thing. praying for a speedy recovery.

John, I think I’d feel nervous too!

I’ll keep you in my prayers, and pray that your natural anxiety will somehow subside, or that you can distract yourself enough between now and Thursday.

Lord, please ensure that the surgery is very successful, the rehabilitation smooth, and that John will be walking around with ease and without pain before long.

And Lord, let you light and love surround John and his loved ones.
