Iceland Eliminates People with Down Syndrome

Horrrible.
Unfortunately it’s not just Iceland.
I live in Australia and here 9 out of 10 Down Syndrome births are aborted-all at the encouragement of doctors who convince parents that the child will be a burden.

Perhaps even more frightening is that many think this is “progress”. It doesn’t seem to matter how many people have to die to accomplish a goal.

This is where our world is headed and what is sad is this is seen as a positive.

I personally have zero issues with abortion, but while Down’s syndrome can be a burden, it’s not as if people with Down’s are unable to lead an independent life. That makes me slightly uneasy.

Shredderbeam. Would you mind elaborating a little on what you think an “abortion” is?

Thanks and God bless.

When a woman is pregnant, and uses (usually) medical intervention to make her not-pregnant.

How do you feel about when a baby in the womb has its heart stopped and then is removed in various ways, often with a suction machine.

How is this not the same as what Hittler was doing and the world was against him?

What happens with this situation?

I suppose the difference could be that Hitler was the one in power enforcing it upon the populace, while in Iceland it is the mothers who are choosing to do this voluntarily.

I’m not sure which is worse. 😦

What is the world coming to? I remember learning that in the Roman Empire if the baby did not look right, they would leave it on a mountain to starve or get eaten by wolves. Sometimes they would straight up stab it. While sure the abortion may not sound as gruesome we still are killing a baby 😦

Notice how they learned their lesson? Nowadays things like this are done under the disguise of ‘being beneficial and good’.

Its really quite an accomplishment if you think about it (not what they are doing), but the fact that they can achieve the same thing with hardly anyone recognizing whats really happening.

You mean, like a medically induced birth?
Sort of. I understand that if performed early enough, it’s something like that, but of course in a later stage of pregnancy it gets a bit bloodier.

I feel a bit sick. I have a strong stomach, but it’s obviously extremely gruesome.

Hitler killed millions of living, conscious people. There are plenty of accounts of the suffering and horror they experienced. A fetus doesn’t even begin to develop consciousness until somewhere around 6-7 months.

It’s probably a good idea not to ask that question around people who have been directly affected by Hitler.

Either induced labor, or physically destroying the fetus and extracting it. There may be other methods that I’m not aware of, of course.
