Hi,
Is praying with icons permissable/compatible (not sure or correct word) with Roman Catholicism? Just want to make sure.

I second this. Several years ago I was going through a dark period and I began seeing images of Our Lady of Perpetual Help everywhere – every holy card, book covers, icons, etc. And my beloved mother-in-law gave me an authentic icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help when my husband was deployed to Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War.
