I used to collect cologne, but now I’m trying to live more simply and would like to get rid of most of them. There’s a place in my town where I think they would be accepted (since they accept opened beauty products from the stores in the county), but I don’t trust bringing them there. I volunteered there over the summer, and the volunteers are allowed to take what they want from boxes like that, and I don’t want to doubt that they’re going to the less fortunate.

I don’t want to take it to Goodwill, either, since they’d just sell it if they accepted it, and my parish’s textile shed won’t accept anything that could break.

Any ideas?

In the UK homeless people and others sell a magazine called the big issue.

Which reminds me that Perhaps a homeless person would like some cologne, to freshen up? Most people like to do that I think.

Are their food banks somewhere near you? They often are in need of other products.

Truthfully, I wouldn’t buy or use used cologne or perfume. I am curious why you can’t use it while still embracing a simpler life? Smelling good is a pretty simple thing.

A homeless or safe shelter for women…they would probably very much like having it available.

Unless it is men’s cologne.

Cologne has an expiration date and it can smell awful when it is past it’s date.

If they are unexpired, sell them and donate the money to charity or donate them to a charity store.

Shelters and food banks often won’t accept donations that contain alcohol.
