Many will cry out: Lord! Lord! and will be told to depart for He knows them not. What did Jesus say about those folks who call Him Lord but don’t do His will?

JL: Could you post a scripture showing baptism as a profession of faith only? That would contradict scripture. What do the scriptures tell us about baptism the first time the Gospel was preached at Pentecost. The baptism is the profession of faith.
If I were to convert to a Baptist Church, would my Trinitarian baptism, performed a month and a day after I was born, be considered a sufficient baptism? Or would I have to be baptized again (re-baptized)? Jon
JL: So you don’t hold the doctrine of BELIEVERS BAPTISM. Does your particular Baptist Church also baptize infants if not why if it’s sufficient? I have Baptist relatives and know many Baptist. I know none who would accept an infant’s baptism as sufficient.Yes, it’s sufficient. You could choose to do so again, but it would only be symbolic.
Is a say-so Christian a non-Christian who attends church?A person who does all of those things because he believes they are ordained by God knows Christ better than a say-so Christian does.
I didn’t read his post correctly. I didn’t see that he was baptised as an infant.JL: So you don’t hold the doctrine of BELIEVERS BAPTISM. Nope.JL: Could you post a scripture showing baptism as a profession of faith only?
A say-so Christian, as my childhood AG pastor put it, is one who goes to church, accepts Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and then basically fails to do good works. He contrasted that with a do-so Christian who worked out his faith through love.Is a say-so Christian a non-Christian who attends church?
Don’t Baptist pastors invoke their authority by baptizing “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”? If that’s not an attempt to perform a Holy act, I don’t know what is…I’m not sure what you mean by Holy act.
JL: Could you post a scripture showing baptism as a profession of faith only?
JL: Exactly, there is no such scripture. Baptism as a profession of faith can only be a tradition of men made a doctrine to nullify baptism as a Sacrament. Scripture clearly tells us the Sacrament of Baptism remits, washes away sin and gives the Holy Spirit. One is BORN AGAIN a child of God.Nope.
JL: Could you post those questions and I’ll try to answer them? You guys are slinging questions left and right. Mind answering a couple of my questions? They seem to be being ignored.
Then I ask again;I didn’t read his post correctly. I didn’t see that he was baptised as an infant.
JL: No, conversely does FAITH ALONE matter if you don’t do anything? No.Does doing any of those things matter if you don’t have faith in Christ? Even a heathen can follow many if not most of those rules.
Posts 201, 209, and 218. I think I got the post numbers right.JL: Could you post those questions and I’ll try to answer them?
I believe it would not.Then I ask again;

Thanks, Calgar. I take it then that Baptists reject the Nicene Creed.I believe it would not.
What do you think comes first, faith or works? Or do they happen at the exact same time?JL: No, conversely does FAITH ALONE matter if you don’t do anything? No.
Are you asking or telling? Thanks, Calgar. I take it then that Baptists reject the Nicene Creed.
Jon
He’s telling you that this is what seems to be the case given what you have said. Are you asking or telling?
