Can they listen to Sunday Mass on the radio or watch it on TV?

I’m glad you mentioned wondering about the intention. Every morning before work, I’m lucky enough that daily Mass is broadcast at 5:00 am. Even though I cannot receive Holy Communion, I can still perform a Spiritual Communion. Plus hear the reading and the proclamation of the Gospel and a homily which gives me the right start to the day. In addition to the Liturgy of the Eucharist.I think a very important point of the Mass is to receive the Eucharist. So even you can see Mass on TV, you still can’t receive the Eucharist through TV. There are many ordinary Sunday Masses and even daily Masses being broadcast through TV. I am not sure the intention of doing so…
And it is a wonderful comfort to the people who are house-bound or in nursing homes, etc.If you miss Mass and have full knowledge and intent of what you are doing, you mortally sin.
If you cannot make it to Mass for a reason outside of your control, you do not sin. In such a case, you are excused from the obligation. Listening to Mass on the radio or watching it on TV does not satisfy the obligation, because there is no obligation if you cannot make it to Mass for a reason outside of your control. It is a good thing to do if you cannot make it to Mass, however.
This. Yes, watching Mass on TV when you are sick can be a great comfort as is remembering to pray for spiritual communion. However, if you can’t make it to Mass for reasons out of your control (there are examples in the CCC), you have no obligation. If you miss Mass and have full knowledge and intent of what you are doing, you mortally sin.
