Would you believe that I once had a serious argument with my dad and younger brother on this point?

I had in a very jolly mood, posed the question to my brother, and explained why the answer was “no”, to which he objected, and as he, always the little messenger of all that befalls his ears, went to share our disagreement with my dad, my dad sternly accused and reproached me for trying to fill my brother’s head with absurd nonsense. :eek:

One could think of better think of better things to be put on the defensive about … but no, there I was, trying to defend my sanity all because of a tree that doesn’t make noise.

You can’t post this without also posting your explanation as to why the answer is no.
 
Scientifically, yes. The sound waves are still produced. Philosophically/Theologically - impossible premise, because God is always there to hear it, and therefore it is impossible for no one to be around.
 
From my older sister after watching a number of guys go to my parents house to cut down a number of dead trees on their property:

If a tree falls in the woods, and everyone is around to see it, how many other trees will it take down with it?
 
I have a lady bug; I knew that she is balloon .

Is she balloon?

And has she walked on that tree in forest?

I was told a while back that the answer is no because the sound waves must be received by an ear in order to be heard and considered a “sound”. I like your answer about God better 🙂
