John.1: [29 "The next day he [John the Baptist] saw Jesus coming toward him, and said,** "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! "**

On the assumption that this is a true and factual statement…

Is it?

If it is, and Jesus explicitly explains how this is to be accomplished [John 20:15-19]; then on what OTHER basis can and does Jesus forgive sins?

"In ALL THINGS Charity"
God Bless,

Jesus Christ is truly the Paschal Lamb sacrificed to atone for the sins of the world.
[BIBLEDRB]Exodus 12:3-6[/BIBLEDRB]

These are the instructions for selecting a lamb for the passover of the Old Covenant.

In the same way, Jesus entered Jerusalem on the tenth of Nisan and was killed on the evening of the fourteenth, after Pilate found him without blemish:

[BIBLEDRB]Luke 23:13-15[/BIBLEDRB]

In establishing a new covenant with all men, Jesus shed his blood once “so that sins may be forgiven.” We are reminded of this every day in the Eucharistic liturgy.
