I am a Protestant and I’d love to see reconciliation happen.
Talk to a priest… or a solid Catholic… that would be your first step.I am a Protestant and I’d love to see reconciliation happen.
My husband is a solid Catholic and neither one of us know of anything that we personally can do. I’ve sent an e-mail to our priest a little over a week ago and I have yet to get any response from him and now he is getting ready to go out of town.Talk to a priest… or a solid Catholic… that would be your first step.
God will support you.
I’m guessing you may not have many Catholic parishes in your town (?). I would try a phone call to your parish office and ask about the RCIA program, and how to connect with someone in charge of the program. If that doesn’t work, is it very far to the next town with a Catholic parish? My husband is a solid Catholic and neither one of us know of anything that we personally can do. I have taken RCIA and it is only 15 minutes to the next closest church, but our last priest made me feel very uncomfortable is his presence, because I am not Catholic. So, I would rather stick with a Priest that I know and that I feel wants to be reconciliation like me.I’m guessing you may not have many Catholic parishes in your town (?). Good for you. And good that you recognize that there are some priests just not interested, some just not available, and some that are wonderful. The Catholic Church is full of sinners, just like any other. I’ve prayed everyday since I was born. So, that kinda comes natural for me.Good for you. There is probably nothing you will do that is harder than being a true Catholic. So get used to praying![]()

Yes, by all means find a parish where the RCIA people can relate to non-Catholics! Keep searching to find a place where you are both welcomed and properly instructed in the Faith. Some RCIA programs are very welcoming yet unorthodox in their presentation of the Church. I will be praying for you to find just the right place, Awantz.I have taken RCIA and it is only 15 minutes to the next closest church, but our last priest made me feel very uncomfortable is his presence, because I am not Catholic. Excellent points!… But for the vast majority of Evangelicals, it wouldn’t matter…Most Baptist congregations take pride in their autonomous churches and would never ceed it b/c they think it’s uncessessary based on their biblical interpretation. Some may even see a reunited East and West as some sort of working of the Anti-Christ.
