That is funny. Of course really after Empire all the movies are not very good. When there was just the original trilogy you had the first movie which was a good space western, Empire which was outstanding (the best of the movies) and allowed to end without resolution and on quite a few downers, and ROTJ which was the beginning of full on silliness.

Two out of three is good. A franchise could be considered great even with a terrible movie. But then they added movies. With each additional movie the balance between good and bad shifted. Now the franchise as a whole is heavily weighted towards bad movies.

I’ve shared this video before but if you are a Star Wars fan or have an interest in how much editing can change things it is worth watching. What it reveals is that George Lucas is just not that great a storyteller. Star Wars (the first movie) was saved by editing (not Lucas’s editing). Empire was great because Lucas didn’t direct it. After that Lucas had too much (name removed by moderator)ut and the movies weren’t salvageable. He even went back and made the original ones worse with his edits.

 
I suppose this would also explain why Justin Bieber and Alanis Morissette aren’t mute…
 
I remember after seeing TLJ that I was talking to a girl who hadn’t seen it yet and didn’t want spoilers. So I said, “That’s okay, but I am going to tell you one thing. TLJ reveals that Rey is the daughter of Luke and Leia.”
Never having seen the original trilogy, the girl though I was serious…

It was interesting having to explain the joke.

But see, that’s actually proof for God’s goodness, in that he invented rocks for us to live under. I have no idea who the second person is and I aint about to google it.
