If God is light, can a black hole's gravity suck him in?

Since not even light can escape the gravity of the black hole, and God is light, does it mean that God cannot escape the gravity of the black hole?

Of course God is outside nature and he could cease gravity from acting on itself.

If anyone is offended by this, I didn’t mean it to offend. It is something I was pondering about.

I think this is in line with the question of God creating a boulder so massive he cannot move it.

Since God is in complete control of our universe, I would think that the black hole gravity would have as much effect on him as he would want.

When I say, or hear, “God is light,” I don’t conceive of Him as being made of light. Rather that light is one of His attributes along with, He is power and might, wisdom and mercy. No force in nature acts on attributes.

God created the Universe, therefore it stands to reason the Black hole was part of His creation…I’m thinking He knows how to get around those obsticles !! LOL:extrahappy:

It is only a minor point but so far there is no proof of black holes yet. Yes they are extensively on TV and in films and in theory but even those things that look like they should be real … have not been visited or experienced yet. It is like saying Bugs Bunny is real. In a way it is in the form of drawings and such but not as a speaking rabbit.

It is well to remember that Einstein did not think highly of black holes and later with Bose went on to provide the mathematics for worm holes. Neither of which are proven and while science favours black holes and discounts worm holes we really do have to wait to see if what we think we see is what we see.

It is well to remember that God is far more aware of His creation that we ever will be 🙂

Actually, black hole do exist. Scientists can detect black hole based on it’s surroundings. Such as movement of stars…around it. I also done intensive research on this and they do exist, and I do believe that God can make the actions of nature cease to exist.

Light is actually a creation, a creature. God is the Creator of light, not made of it.
Light is not a creature. It is non-living. Creature is something that breaths and has life. Light is nothing but photon particles.

No, it referes to anything created. The root is creatus, ‘that which was created’

Here is Websters on the subject
Main Entry: crea·ture
Pronunciation: \ˈkrē-chər\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin creatura, from Latin creatus, past participle of creare
Date: 14th century
1: something created either animate or inanimate: as a: a lower animal; especially : a farm animal b: a human being c: a being of anomalous or uncertain aspect or nature
2: one that is the servile dependent or tool of another : instrument

That’s the old question.

The one I hear lately is:
Can Jesus microwave a burrito until it is so hot that even he can’t eat it?

Now, I have no training in philosophy but I think the answer to all 3 questions…

Can God create a boulder so massive…
Can Jesus microwave a burrito so hot…
and Can God create something so powerful that even he can’t overcome it? (to restate the original question a little)

…is the same.

No. One thing (the only thing?) that God cannot do is engage in falsehood (Titus 1:2). This is the same reason why God cannot create a round triangle, or make 2x2=3.14, because they are erroneous concepts.

James

Hmmm maybe thats the reason why God has been absent for the last 2000 years. Maybe he is trapped in a blackhole somewhere. 🤷

I think God is bigger than you think. Not to mention he created all of this earth and the universe. I thing “God is light” is a human interpretation and not actually God. Kind of like “God is Love”. That makes no sense but humans say it to make God more explainable and reachable.
Truth is we dont know him personally (as many** think **they do) and are just presuming. I dont think we should presume anything.imo

Do you posit that God disappeared 2000 years ago?
That is what your statement implies…
exactly. god has been missing for 2000 years now along with all the angels and all the devils. gone! no more miracles (aside from the few hoaxes & misconceptions out there). and no more possessions (aside from clinic schizophrenia & other mental illnesses)

I think the confusion here is between “The Light” and light.

God is The Light in the sense that He makes known the unknown, brings life to the world, and is the eternal wellspring of creation.
It doesn’t mean that God is a collection of photons.

In the same way, when they say Jesus is “The Word” they don’t mean that he is made of letters and lives in a dictionary.

why do you say “God is light?”
I would assume it comes from John 1. Jesus is referred to as the light:

**What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…

He came for testimony, to testify to the light…

The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.**

That passage says that God “can not lie” which doesn’t make a claim as to whether he can make an erroneuous concept happen.

Jesus walked on water even though that was physically impossible and turned water into wine even though that was also physically impossible. I suppose that through a miracle God can make a round triangle or 2x2=3.14.
