Hi,
My wife posed two questions to me. I looked both on catholic.com and google but couldn’t come up with a good solid answer. She’s not catholic. Anyway here are the questions she asked.
  1. Is it a sin for people to have fettishes? For example between people who are married, for one or both people to have certain body part fettishes?
  2. If God is perfect, why are people born imperfect?
  3. She stated that people and God are similar or the same in the only difference being that God has a higher vibrational energy? It sounds as if she is thinking of God as more along the lines of an impersonal force such as that of Star Wars which is fictional. Can anyone point me to articles or sites that address these questions?

  1. if that person were to lose that body part would that stop you from loving them. If yes you have a fetish and have objectified that person. People are persons and not just body parts.
  2. People are imperfect because our first parents chose to rebel againt GOD. Therefore we are born with an attraction to sin. Which can lead to having distorted views about people and lead to fetish’s.
  3. If your wife really believes this then she is not monotheistic let alone catholic.
this might be a good place to start.

Hi, if that person were to lose that body part I would still love them. There’s more to people than the parts of their bodies that they have or may not have.

Hi,
you gave me a link that has a pdf. Can you give that to me in a text file? The screen reader software doesn’t read pdfs well at all. If I could have a .txt or text file of the catichism that would be great, thanks.

I’d suggest some good Christian Apologetics.

Lewis “Mere Christianity” and “Miracles”
Strobel’s “The Case for Christ”
Kreeft “To Know Christ Jesus”
D’Souza “What’s So Great About Christianity”.
