If God rewards you in heaven, why doesn’t satan reward you in hell?
Thanks

Hi,
I know he hates us, but what about the bad people that follow him? Doesn’t he like them?
Because they follow his will and not Gods wouldn’t he want evil to be more appealing?
I’m just curious about hell i’m not evil, i love Jesus! I’m just looking here because i don’t want to ask my teacher.
Thanks

Do you love checkers pieces? They do your will…

Ultimately, we’re less than even that to satan. He wants us to follow him, not because he wants our followership, but because he wants to hurt God. We are the reason he rebelled, the evidence of his folly of pride, and he hates us with a burning passion. The only reason he wants our souls is out of spite.

Buuuuuuuut… he rewards us in hell… it’s just that the rewards is the booby-prize that nobody really wants…

You’re thinking along the lines that evil, especially Satan, operates on rationality or at least a participation of rationality. He hates everything, everyone, himself, and most of all, God. The only thing he’ll give to others is torture that he feels and will feel for eternity. The only reason why he wants people to serve him is to rob them of their chance of salvation. If he goes down, he wants to take as many people with him. No one ever said he, or acts of evil, makes any sense.

Well Satan hates you, so he wants you to suffer as much as he is suffering in Hell. And if Hell was a place of reward, people would start wanting to go there and not go up in Heaven with God. And I doubt Satan wants to make a cozy place down there for the creation of God (the person he hates)’

While he was tempting Jesus, the devil offered Christ all the kingdoms of this world. If it is in the devil’s power, perhaps people in this world who serve him so to speak are “rewarded” by him with worldly things in this life. These only serve to distract them from God and of course this is what the devil wants to do.

As far as I can tell, we cannot be sure which worldly goods (if any) are from the devil or not…just a thought.

Because its a place of punishment. Maybe an analogy will help:
Lets say there are two kids in school. One does something good and gets a sticker. The other does something bad and gets detention. Now how can that child be rewarded in detention? No, in both cases we can have consequences: good and bad. But we can’t have rewards in both cases. Rewards by there very nature are good consequences. Its the same thing in heaven/ hell. The equivilant of “rewards” in hell is suffering…

Also I think you are assuming Satan is the “ruler” of hell. He’s not. He is being punished as well. So even if he did want to “reward us” he isn’t in any position to do so.
Anyways, he doesn’t want to reward us. He wants to hurt us and God. Another analogy: Lets say a man wants to use a woman. He might convince her to leave her family/ parents and come with him. Once he has used her, he will leave her. He won’t reward her for complying. He simply wanted what he wanted. Its the same with Satan except that what he wants is for us to suffer and God to be hurt.
Satan doesn’t consider those who go to hell to be his wonderful, obedient followers. He is delighted to have ruined a soul and caused God great pain. Why would he reward them?

The devil has no rewards to give. He can’t restore life, or any of the appurtenances of aliveness; he can only destroy.

Satan does reward - Satan’s idea of rewards are different than God’s is all.
Hatred, vengeance, greed, trickery, deceit, terror, pain, - All of the things that evil people find so attractive as tools to be applied to others in this life will be their reward in the next life. The Devil will give them all of these things.

God will likewise reward.
Love, charity, mercy, forgiveness, peace, Truth - all of the things that good people find so attractive as tools to be applied to others in this life will be their reward in the next. God gives them all of these things.

Mt 7:2
For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.

We will, in either case reap what we sow. Our reward is what we have given ourselves over to.

Peace
James

It’s useful to look for things that are equal to each other and can replace each other. Pork for beef, tea for coffee. The formula,

follow God : rewards in Heaven : : follow Satan : why not rewards in Hell ?,

exemplifies basic relativistic thinking and the way humans tend to look for equivalencies in relationships. Satan is fighting God, so God must be fighting Satan, like two prize fighters chosen by a boxing authority. Pretty close in skills, to make the fight worth betting on. Heaven is a place, so Hell must be a place too. Probably not as bad as it’s painted, if past experience is any guide. But it won’t be.

How about this : to be in Heaven is to be close to God forever, and knowing Him and His will, and Hell is separation from God forever, but sensing the loss fully every moment.

Let the relativists try to break into that statement of non-equality!

God does not “reward” anyone is Heaven. Being there is the reward. Ridgerunner has the satan answer.

I think, love should be its own reward. Whether to a demon or to God…

I think those things that directly hinder our relationship to God are from the devil. Things such as porn would be a prime example of what is from the devil.
