If I do what is required to enter into heaven

Can I just ask God to destroy me instead of saving me? I’d figure that since I’d technically be “saved” I’d have more flexibility regarding my destiny than someone who is adamantly against God and condemned. I would want this destruction to be a non-eternal, permanent process, by the way. Honestly, I regret existing in the first place, so no harm done.

Jesus, help me to fittingly love myself. You do not wish me to disparage myself but to see my self as loved, forgiven child of God. A poor self-image may compare to our perception of ‘clouds’. To observers, clouds appear to be impressive, substantial and tangible. However, within themselves the clouds seem damp, insubstantial and misty.

Jesus, let me not belittle myself in comparison to others because of my personal uncertainties and inadequacies or my unhappiness.
Help me to live in sincere acceptance of my self, that unique gift of Your creative love to me .

The only thing required is to call upon the Lord, admit you’re a sinner in need of a SAVIOUR, then be baptized if you’re able, and the works will come naturally. You’ll never be perfect, you need to understand that, I’ll never be perfect, this is why Christ died on the Cross for us because only He could be perfect.

Once in heaven your will is permanently fixed toward the good. You would, therefore, not make the request. It does not represent your good.

But yes, you are physically able to speak such a request to God at this time. Christian teaching about what/how prayers are answered would indicated that you should prepare yourself to receive something other than that which you apparently request. I don’t believe, though, that we always know our own hearts. He is going to hear what is truly in your heart, behind the request…

I also wish I could simply stop existing (I would tell God to just get rid of me, “come on you don’t even have to have me in heaven with you, just make me disappear”, when I was younger I actually thought I could annoy God into granting my wish lol) but honestly come on, he won’t do that, and I’m guessing once you’re in heaven, you won’t want to be gone either.

What is required to enter heaven is to love God and to choose His will for your life. We are created to come to know Him, love Him, and serve Him in this life, so we can be eternally happy with Him in the next.

If you desire annihilation, then your will is not aligned with God’s will, and you are rejecting the beautiful creation that you are.

Think of a child asking for something ridiculous or harmful. Their parents would not honor the request because they know that they don’t have a full understanding of themselves, who they are, the world, or the consequences of their action.

We are God’s children. As we grow and age, we must seek to come to know Him and know ourselves. If we could truly understand that, then the idea of desiring annihilation would seem unfathomable.

I pray that you and any who struggle with not seeing the amazing beauty inherent in themselves and every human person be drawn closer to God and come to know and love their and others’ humanity.

Wishing oneself harm, and choosing it is contrary to what God wills for you, God only permits good.
Whatever is making you feel this way will be reversed or vanquished in heaven.
Aspire to heaven for the right reasons. For love of God and neighbor. Live a just life, don’t worry about things have nothing to do with eternity, and trust God. He’s in control, You seem to be able to accept that.
Accept also His love. Even if you can’t muster the strength to love yourself right now.

Many posters here are praying for you.
But no one hides from reality. No one runs form the face of God. If you can look at Jesus and realize He looks back upon you with love, that is a place to start healing.

Sure you can ask, but if you have faith enough in God to ask for such a thing…why not ask God to give you a desire for life?

What makes you think you would be saved? But again, if you think you have some measure of favor with God why not ask Him for a positive outcome for your life instead of asking God to put you in suspended animation.

Dear Neutral, as I was reading your post I was waiting to get to the last line expecting to see I’m kidding people’., Have you ever just took time to really think about what your saying. You must realize that you are a child of God and what you want to do is a impossibility, You want to commit suicide of your soul’’ and you are asking God to do it. ’ So you will as you say not ‘technically be saved’ Regret existing in the first place, you said.God gave you life, you have a reason for being here. I would ask you . please go somewhere where you can be by yourself either into a church after Mass or in a park , and sit and talk to Jesus. Open your mind and heart to Him who suffered such an horrific death so that You and I could enter into HEAVEN. This would be impossible. God is logical. He made your soul to exist eternally, so it can’t be destroyed. This is why people end up in Hell, because if He could (which would go against logic) somehow destroy a soul, Hell wouldn’t exist. There is only Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory. Purgatory is a purification for Heaven and Hell is condemnation. Heaven is when our wills are aligned with God’s will. We were created for Heaven. Heaven is where we finally get to see the Beatific vision, which is happiness beyond what we can humanly imagine.

If you did what is required to enter Heaven, that means you desired Heaven. We do good things because we desire eternity with God in Heaven
