If I donated my body to science what about a funeral?

Was musing this morning about whether I might want to donate my body to science when I die. I see from this thread that it’s morally acceptable . . .

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=148613

But my question is, how would Catholic funeral rites take place? I may not have that many people to attend a funeral anyway since I’m an only child, never married, and have no kids or grandkids.

Still, I want a Funeral Mass. But how would that be done? 🤷

We recently had this situation with a distant family member. She donated her body to a local teaching hospital. Part of the arrangement was that after a period of time (I think it was two years), the body would be cremated and the cremains returned to the family for Christian burial.

In her case, they had a memorial Mass said soon after she died and then the Catholic commitment service after the remains were returned.

it would not be a Mass of Christian Burial, but you can still have a Mass said, it would be more of a memorial Mass, but most of the same readings can be selected as at any funeral Mass, just a few changes in some of the prayers. Normally after the scientific research is carried out the body will be cremated and the remains returned to the family and at that time they should havet them interred properly.
