If I find Mass boring I will find Heaven the same?

What a bizarre concept.

Heaven may be beyond comprehension on many levels but you won’t be the same either.

More specifically the veil will be lifted from your eyes and your human limitation less of a weight around your neck.

So how on Earth to you intend to equate your current view point with heaven?

It would be like asking a blind man what he thinks of the view, before he has had his sight restored.

Mass is a beauty,peace…only our fault because we have that weaknesses…Mass is never boring,boring are we.

You better call Paul. I read all your posts. I’m sorry mass isn’t a special time for you. It’s a good thing you’re not Orthodox. Their mass is three hours of standing.

Sometimes I joke that maybe I should go to hell, that’s where all my drinking buddies will be!

Mass is conducted and attended by humans. It will have flaws, and we will have distractions or be of another mind. Happens to all of us.

Heaven, is beyond human comprehension. Someone once told me that we can no more perceive what heaven is like than a mosquito larva can have a perception of what flight is like. We are at a larval stage. We will all emerge as beautiful butterflies flitting away in Paradise. Figuratively speaking of course, I am trying to illustrate the leap of existence and consciousness that we will experience. Or those who make it at least. For myself, I’m not so sure… Need.To.Work.Harder.At.Avoiding.Sin.

My concern is when we cant make jokes about Heaven and Hell anymore. Hell is not being able to laugh anymore about our anxieties.

There are no anxieties in Heaven.
There is no boredom. Boredom is a biological sensation when somebody isn’t doing anything they consider worthwhile. There is tentative evidence that other species experience this.

I value humour. And I think when we lose ours, part of us dies.
 
If you’re not being tongue in cheek, I think you’re placing entirely too much stock in an internet meme. It’s just a pithy one liner. It really shouldn’t be blowing your mind this way.
 
Granted. I value humor too. You could at least indicate it (was done with humour) especially as this is an internet forum, perhaps you have to indicate that to make it more obvious. We cannot see your face or body language, it is just down to the writing.

For the mass going folks it may difficult for them to immediately recognise a joke on such topic unless you indicate it is. Yes, some of us may be quite dense but the onus is on the person who make the humor.

Lots of unecessary emotion could have been saved.

I think you’re right. Though I did think it humorous from one perspective, I also felt it must be taken seriously. Many people do have the attitude of treating mass like Heaven. I’ve never felt that way about Mass. Part of my learning curve perhaps?
 
Heaven isn’t for the individual. Heaven is the legacy you leave to those who follow you.

Jesus said that children are as the kingdom. He was saying that the kingdom, ie Heaven, is something you bequeath to later generations. He said the kingdom is like a fig tree. A fig tree has fruit, its progeny. Again, the kingdom is for those who follow. Jesus says ‘Thy kingdom come’. The kingdom is in the future. Heaven is not something in the here and now at death for an individual. It is the world we create in which those who follow will live. Hell is the same thing. We choose whether those who follow will live in Heaven or Hell. Jesus promised eternal life. It wasn’t eternal life for an individual but eternal life for humanity. If all were to follow his commandments to love Creation and love each other then humanity will have eternal life. For those who give prestige to their family line and name following the commandments will give a continuous line which is ‘eternal life’.

Jesus said nothing directly connecting personal death to Heaven (or Hell). That has been implied. Heaven (or Hell) is the result of our actions. Nobody can disagree with that. Only it is not for us who perform those actions. It is for those who follow, our progeny and those who are testament to our life be it biologically or inspirationally.

It might be interesting to get my hand bit off by a werewolf but I wouldn’t want to try it in real life. 🙂
