…be so bold as to ask for a prayer for myself.

Pray that things will resolve themselves peacefully between me and my dad. Since he moved to where I’m living now we’ve been communicating more and old tensions are starting to rear their ugly heads. He doesn’t have a lot of faith in or respect for me and I’ve got a lot of animosity toward him right now for making a big deal out of giving me $800 dollars for books while leaving my mother to gracefully shoulder $10,000+ dollars in loans for my tuition. We’ve got old issues that were never really addressed and it’s getting more and more difficult to keep my anger in check.

Sorry for the rant. Please, if you are willing, just pray that we can resolve our issues with minimum conflict and have a more peacefull father-daughter relationship.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Dear Lord, I pray for this daughter and Father relationship to improve. May this woman find comfort in knowing that she has a Father in heaven who understands her and loves her very much. May she know that if she persists with patience and love toward her father she will be rewarded in heaven and will reap many graces for others in her sufferings. Help her to focus on the good he has done for her, like baptize her a Catholic and anything else that may apply. Help her to spend as much time in prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament where she can unload about her father to you and find healing and strength to cope with his personality. May she pray to you or even to St. Jude for help to give her the grace to truly forgive him for the past. May she, like St. Therese, smile at her father when she would rather walk away. Help this relationship make her into the saint you have always called her to be. Help her find a good priest to talk to if her father ever becomes too much for her to handle. May she get over the bitterness she feels toward her father by offering it up to you and refusing to reclaim any of it. May each day be an opportunity for her to practice love and patience toward her father and may she prefer suffering her father than offending you in any way. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

It sounds painful.
Lord, there is honest need for dealing with past hurts and for reconciliation.

Lord, please help our friend to maintain Christian attitudes in dealing with her Dad, but please help him to see where his perceptions of his daughter and of his own self are not mature or kind or true.

Help his daughter to be calmly and respectfully honest about the truth she sees, so that she isn’t silently fuming at the injustice or in danger of outward anger.

If possible help this man to grow to a more balanced view of others, by helping him to deal with his own inner resentments and his lacks in balance and justice. If he can’t grow at least enable him to think of and treat his daughter with love and respect.

Please help a loving, balanced and fair relationship grow between this father and daughter. Thank You, Lord.

Lord, I offer this intention up to you on behalf of promise, to please help her to cope with the challenges that she is having with her developing communications with her dad, and help her dad to see the beautiful daughter he has, the awesome human being that she has grown up to be before his eyes. May they reconcile their differences, once and for all, so that they can enjoy the father daughter relationship You would intend for them to share. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. :gopray:

Thank you all so much for the incredibly beautiful prayers. They mean more than I can ever say.

Lord we ask that You provide harmony, understanding and love for these two. That they find lovein their hearts for one another and a mutual respect among each other. Lord, we pray that You guide them in word and deed throughout their lives with one another, and others. That the father/daughter relationship hold strong and fast, that sustainable employment, money, and the necessities of life be provided for this woman and her family. This we pray to you for Lord, Amen:)

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.
