😃 Ooohhhh this is fun. Okay if I were male and Pope I’d DEFINITELY wear those great red Prada shoes and the Gucci sunglasses. ( I just got a gorgeous pair of Gucci sunglasses and love them.) I just love that Pope Benedict XVI has fashion sense and has worn some of the older traditional hat and garb of the Papacy.

If there were a ā€˜chick pope’, Im sure that the robes and headwear would change quite a bit.

…I would still have much to suffer because the media would make sure of that. Sorry, after just listening to one of those TV gossip reports (omg! Insider) about our Holy Father, I couldn’t resist.

I always joke that the reason Jesus didn’t allow women Priests is because he knew before long we would have Barbie pink cathedrals, chandeliers over the altar, altar servers with tiaras and Royal capes on, and peacock colored Priestly garments. 😃

Mandatory 2-hour lunch break (including a half hour power nap) for all Vatican workers. Half an hour or an hour just isn’t enough when you want to do shopping or other errands as well as eat.

Liturgical colours would be replaced by tasteful-yet-vibrant seasonal pallettes - clergy could mix n match from a range of co-ordinated tones to better suit their mood rather than be stuck with one boring old colour per liturgical season. And no pink (sorry, rose) - no man looks good in it.

Crackdown on resurrexifixes and mishmashy abstract decorative items in churches. Statues, stained glass windows and paintings must contain identifiable and relatively realistic images of humans, animals, plants or landscapes.

Non-clergy speakers only ever to be permitted before or after Mass, never during - no exceptions!

Are you describing the Episcopal church? šŸ˜‰

Actually I agree with many of the posts in the other thread where the men answered.

Funny concept, and never really thought about it until this post. But the first thing I’d do (after a LOT of prayer, and possibly a three day retreat after installation,) would be to get a universal machine, treadmill, and one of those swimming pools with the swimming current installed into the papal apartments. I’d want to be in shape to kick ---- and take names with some of the most egregious offenders, especially the pedophile clergy! And I’d hire a cook who prepared healthy meals, not lavish and fattening ones. This just occurred to me when I heard that Pope Benedict XVI is resigning due to his deteriorating health. I’d want to keep myself in the best possible shape, spiritually and physically, to exert leadership. šŸ‘

Yes, on a serious note, I think it would be a prudent move to institute, or at least encourage, a sort of basic health regimen for clergy. God made us stewards of our bodies, it would set an example to the laity, and it would preserve the overall quality of life and effectives of the leaders of the Church.

Wow! You’d make a great Pope!:bowdown2:

Were you trying to post a question?
Somebody started a thread called " If I were Pope" (Baptized Catholic males only)". While I completely agree that priesthood is reserved to males, I think it is a bit silly to reserve imagining oneself to be pope to males. The women of this forum have virtually the same chance of becoming pope as the men do. I do not see any good reason to restrict a ā€œwhat would you do if you were pope?ā€ thread to men.

I understood the point of the thread right away šŸ™‚

I would encourage Catholic ā€œcultureā€, the traditional family unit, and family traditions that have totally gone by the wayside.

I would reform Religious Ed, make it standardised and available for people of all ages, and be adamant that people be knowledagbe in the faith and accept the teachings of the Church. So many Catholics are not well Catechised and weakening our faith as a whole.

And bring back the Papal Tiara šŸ˜‰
