Wow, where was your CCD? I didn’t have that experience, but I know what you mean when I would ask my sons how CCD was and they would answer donuts and games, but that was only after they read the bible. I guess it wasn’t serious enough for kids to sit still and listen.
Remember, CCD starts in second grade, sometimes first and it is awfully hard to get all 20 kids in one room to pay attention and to be quiet and listen. It ain’t gonna happen. Jesus would still be happy if not the gathering of His children, at least understanding part of the class. I am proud I put my kids through 10 years of CCD straight. It is an accomplishment for me.
But when I was a kid, it was different. We listened.
