Yeah, he is. He’s supposed to be a male descendant of King David, Melech HaMashiach.Question: Is this Messiah for sure supposed to be male?

Actually it’s now 5773 (nearly 5774) according to the Hebrew calendar, so it won’t be long now. Start packing. Is that “A.D.”?(Or C.E. or however one is supposed to say it…)
According to the Talmud, the Messiah must come before the year 6000 AD? The window is open for almost four thousand more years?

Well, of course, many did. Our Church was founded by Jews. Kind of a straw dog, don’t you think? There are billions alive to this very day, who having been exposed to the gospel, have not yet been transformed. This proves nothing about the Jesus divinity or lack of it. It simply proves that man has free will, and some chose not to follow. At the root of it, seems to be an unwillingness to let go of obstacles, and of course, vanity/pride. Look at the Pharisees, (or most of them anyway. We know for instance that Nicodemus was a secret follower). They were stymied by our Blessed Lord and Savior constantly. Why? Not because of anything Jesus did or said. Not because He couldn’t be discerned from His life and teachings, but simply because they enjoyed their status. They were human. The “idea” of messiah which they had studied was all well and good, but when the rubber hit the road, their surrender would have meant that they were no longer needed at the temple in their current capacity. It would have meant that instead of guarding the law, they would have had to allow the law to be written on their hearts. They would no longer be able to make a show of their status and office. They would have had to die to themselves, just as all followers of Christ must. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. But He reminded us himself that the way is narrow. That many will say to Him, Lord Lord, and will not be recognized.Certainly to my mind Jewish people would have the best idea of who the Messiah is and so would have been able to recognise Jesus if he really was the Messiah?
Yep!And, with some reflection on how you have interpreted Jewish Scripture to verify that Jesus (in His First Coming) is the Messiah, would you say that all that you write here (about His Second Coming) will LITERALLY come true?
I feel so honored that the Father has given me eyes to seeYep!
You are so right. God gives us all different grace to see different things. But we must also remember to be kind and gentle for those who have not received the same grace as us.I feel so honored that the Father has given me eyes to see![]()
God bless you rinnieYou are so right. God gives us all different grace to see different things. But we must also remember to be kind and gentle for those who have not received the same grace as us.
As the word of God teaches us God can also take away from us also when we become too vain.
Did it? In which ancient text or other source is this claim preserved? Because I don’t know of one, and I’m rather familiar with the sources. It’s very unlikely anyway; mystery cults were elitist, by definition. They weren’t mass movements.Mithraism claimed similar following to Christianity
Such as what? The arrival of an emperor who was initiated into Mithras? Well, Commodus was. Or what? Chalk and cheese, I think.and given the same circumstances which permitted Christianity to become the Roman state religion,
Do you have any evidence for this claim?chances are that today people would be gathered round the tauroctony (a Mithraic altar depicting Mithras killing a bull, whose blood gave everlasting life) chanting hymns rather than being in a church. Ditto Isis worship, Serapis cult, the Persian cult of Ahura Mazda (which gave birth to Zoroastrianism) etc.
