Proximity is not the question. God is He in whom we live, move and are.

It is relationship. Those who love God, revel in His proximity.
Those who despise God, are tortured by His proximity.

Then would an unbaptized infants soul be predisposed to revel in His proximity?

That makes me wonder.
The Holy Innocents were unbaptized infants who died and went to heaven. What happened to their inherent sin? Baptized in their own blood perhaps?

The very same thing that happened to those righteous Jews who were admitted into heaven by Jesus Christ. They are washed of Original Sin by the Consuming Fire of God.
 
Those Jews satisfied God’s justice by being righteous during life. We know that divine justice isn’t served by a soul with sin even if inherited.

Ok, here is my take on it. Those infant souls were deprived of the means to satisfy divine justice or to accept salvation. God desires all to be saved. Since the effects of original sin removed the means for them to do either, it follows that divine justice would be served if they are given the opportunity to be saved. God’s omniscience perhaps, could serve them knowing which souls would have desired baptism.

Deuteronomy 4
23 Beware lest thou ever forget the covenant of the Lord thy God, which he hath made with thee: and make to thyself a graven likeness of those things which the Lord hath forbid to be made:
24 Because the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

That doesn’t offer much conceptually. Does exiting the womb change the human soul? You should begin your answer like that.
 
When Nicodemous was told he must be born again he asked how he can go back into the womb. Jesus did not say he needed to be conceived again
 
How can you baptize an unborn baby? We can’t… However, nothing is impossible with God. And, we have evidence of baptism of the yet to be born at the Visitation.
 
Baptism is necessary for the baptizable. If the baptizable can hear the gospel, then hearing the gospel and believing it is necessary for baptism. If the baptizable cannot hear the gospel, then being sponsored is necessary for baptism.
 
What’s the Catholic stance in chemical pregnancies and blighted ovums? This is one aspect of the faith I struggle with once in a while…I wish I could understand this more.
